"Paraskos Apartments review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
As I havent read any reviews on Paraskos Apartments I thought it was my duty to warn anyone, hopefully before booking, to avoid this awful accommodation. In twenty years of holidaying to Greece I can honestly report that this accommodation was the worst and most disappointing ever. Firstly the location is depressing - in front of a dusty car park off the main road. On one side the view is of the apartment block a few yards away and on the other we were 'lucky' enough to have a 'garden' view. The 'garden' is really next-doors half-finished building site filled with bricks, mixers and junk! Delightful!! The whole apartment, both inside and out gave the impression of being neglected and unfinished, but apparently they are six years old.
There is a pool located underneath the building which is freezing cold because it never gets any sun, so also it is not suitable for sunbathing - it's not a very attractive area - unfinished and untidy with randomly placed astroturf laid to cover concrete and a hose pipe for a shower! NICE! Inside the apartments were tatty and depressing with items either broken or in various states of disrepair. Everybody placed their bags of rubbish by the stairwell which grew into a tip by the end of the week. This was because the maid only appeared once. Whilst we were there the rep was overloaded with complaints about damaged items.
Potos as a resort is okay, but we preferred Limenaria, where we stayed last year. Potos town beach is not very clean, but slightly better the further you walk. We went on the boat trip which leaves every morning at 9.30ish - 25 EUROS for breakfast, barbeque lunch with wine, some fishing and a few stops for swimming, it was a good day out. The beach at Pefaki, which is a 15 min walk from Potos, is excellent for snorkelling, watersports, and also a good selection of tavernas. It has free umbrellas and sunbeds for 2 euros, but it can get rather crowded. I love Thassos, but unfortunately the accommodation this year was a big let-down. Go to Thassos, but not PARASKOS.

Overall Hotel Rating:
Potos is a nice resort to stay in. There are plenty of tavernas and bars although more expensive than Limenaria. This said staying at the Paraskos Apts was awful!!.
We would strongly discourage anyone considering this accomodation. Stifling heat, dreadful outlook overlooking the next apartment block so close that you could practically touch. Filthy pool area with astroturf carelessly laid around it. Dumped building rubble underneath our balcony and I could go on and on.
Zooms Bar \Restaurant was good but our favourite eating place was a bit further up the road on the left opposite Villa Ketti apartments.
Potos has particularly good breakfasts especially next to the Boomerang bar.We have been to Thassos (Limenaria) 6 times but after this experience in Potos, we will give the island a rest.
