Studios ok, very basic. kept awake by neighbours toilet cistern making horrible noises.resort excellent people fantastic,food wonderful. So good we have booked for may 2005

After reading some of the reviews, we were slightly worried about the apts and the resort, but we had absolutely nothing to worry about at all. The ferry journey from the airport to the resort was so smooth it was untrue. 1hr 40 mins in total to the apartment and our luggage was outside waiting for us. Thomson's were very organised and I would recommend them for the smooth transfer they provided

The accommodation is simply a basic Greek pension. It is clean and ideally located in the centre of the resort. The rooms are compact and basic - but we were very happy with them for the money we paid. The resort is lovely - very romantic and chilled out, with lots of nice tavernas and a few bars and shops. The beach is nice, and golden beach is about a 20 minute walk along the seafront - well worth it for the longer stretch of sparkling sand.

I did not see any more wasps and mosquitos than usual - and I certainly looked for them after reading previous reviews! So, in my view, nothing at all to worry about there.

We went on the local bus to Aliki - which is a nice little scenic bay, and caught the bus to Thassos town for a night out.

Thassos is a wonderful island and Skala Potamia is a lovely resort to stay in. I would recommend it to anyone.

We had a great time in Skala potamias despite the wasps. barbara studios whilst compact, were friendly and if you asked nothing was a trouble, barbara supplying any extra items we reqested. the studios very convenient for centre and beach, while we are sure there are many other studios with more to offer, they are value for the price set by just. ours was a last minute booking for one week and we definately go back to thassos.
