stayed at Susie end of May 2008 for 2 weeks. rooms spacious and a large balconyKept very clean Towels changed every other day. basic cooking facilities 2 rings and a kettle. crockery limited but we managed ok. Pool area very clean could do with a few more sunbeds. we ate at some really good tavernas on the sea front at very reasonable prices. reccomend Krambousa, Magic Sea,Captains. Green sea was overrated service poor and food not what we ordered. Hired a car from Potos for 3 days very good rate. went around the island and visted the villages, views were fantastic and it was very pleasant driving loads of places to stop to admire the view. Loved Aliki Bay the setting is stunning and we spent lovely afternoon on beach after exploring all the old ruins. THE Island fascinated us as it sparkles and we booked a day trip with Rose who took us up the mountain treks and gave us lunch and explained all bout the island. Will definetly be going back to Thassos

This was our third time at Suzie Studis and we found them much the same - perfectly adequate and clean. The beach is still the same - terrific for swimming. Dined at Koralli taverna most nights.

It is 2 years since we were last on Thassos and what struck us most was the amount of building going on, near the apartments and generally in Skala Potamia, Golden Beach. While it did not really affect us other than a bit of noise at times, it is a sign that the resort is starting to change. I hope it doesn't grow too much.

We both thought Thassos would be a bit small, compared to the other Greek Islands we had been to. How wrong we were! Great things come in small packages and Thassos was no exception.

Skala Potamias is a nice resort, very friendly and plenty of tavernas to choose from, one of our favourites was Agro Galini, which was on the front a short walk away from the main area where the shops and other eating places were.We hired a car and went around the Island, places to definitely see are Aliki, with the fantastic ancient marble quarries, Potos, Thassos Town- lots of historical sites there, and generally stop and enjoy the fantastic coastline views. We also went over to Kavala for the day, this is a total culture shock after being on Thassos (i'll just say that i am glad we did not take our hire car over). Anyway, it is worth the trip , plenty of shoe shops etc. and a great old castle to have a wander around - great photo opportunities from there.

Our apartments were nice, roomy and clean, flights and ferry transfer were great - no delays etc. To sum up, we would go back again and we highly recommend Thassos.

This was our 2nd visit to Thassos (we first visited 2000)
Thassos is a very relaxing island especially if you want to get away from it all.
We stayed at Suzie appartments in Skala
Potamias.
We had a studio for 3 people which was small but clean and sufficient for a decent holiday.
It had a good sized pool and surrounding chairs/umbrellas were plentiful. The pool
was not over used when we stayed, probably because the Skala Potanias/Golden Beaches are 300 yards away and are fantastic beaches.
The water goes out for a long way without getting too deep and is ideal for children.
Also we felt the owner could have encouraged more use of his pool bar and offer more entertainment (even if it was just a pool table/table tennis etc)
The pool bar was hardly used by anyone.

Skala Potamias is a lovely little resort with plenty of tavernas/bars.
We did not hire a car but used the local buses which can take you all round the island and drop you off at several other small beaches/resorts. We went to Limenaria
and Thassos Town (Limenas) but it was so hot while we were there we were happy to go to our local beach most days.
There are local villages to visit (Panagia
and Potamias). We visited Panagia at night and is well worth a stroll round before dining at a taverna. There are also other villages but it would be worth hiring a car to visit these.
We visited Thassos Town (twice)- once at night to beat the heat and enjoy a stroll round the town.
We also took the Eros II boat from Thassos
Town which is a small boat holding 30 people which takes you around half the island and back allowing you to swim at 3 beaches and cooking an excellent barbeque on board. An excellent day out for 25 Euros each.

Overall we do enjoy going to different places but would recommend Thassos to anybody who wants a relaxing holiday and excellent hospitality from the Greeks as usual.

While we were pleased with our room and balcony at the susie studios we were a little disappointed with the gerneral cleanliness of the swimming pool and surrounding area. The pool had a large tidemark all round the edge and always seemed to be full of bugs (even a few dead frogs on 2 occasions). The pool bar which was advertised as serving snacks and drinks all day did not actually exist. The bar area was not actually used at all. The snacks consisted of an ice cream fridge. Apart from this the room was lovely and clean, regularly cleaned by the hardest working cleaners we have ever seen.

The resort was fantastic with loads of choice of restaurants and bars. we stayed for two weeks and did notice that not only did the resort get a lot busier in the second week, all the restaurants brought out new menus to co-incide with this - the only new thing being that all prices had been raised by approx two euros each.

Overall we had a lovely holiday but probably wouldnt go back as there is not actually that much to do once there
