Alykanas is very much a family orientated resort. Its only 45 mins from the airport, which is quite welcoming after a 3 plus hour plane ride with 2 young children. Did not use the town that much as pretty much everything we wanted was within the Alykanas Village.
However, there are plenty of supermarkets, and restaurants. If you travel with young children, you have to try the horse and cart trip to the centre of Alikes and back.

The hotel was excellent. A family run business and they are the most welcoming and entertaining people you could meet. Elaina and John and there son (little) dennis are amazing people. Then you have their nephew (big) Dennis who makes the best cocktail ever...
