Our holiday at the alykanas village was by far the best we have ever been on. This resort is ideal for families, loads for the kids to do. The rooms and the grounds were spotless, with maid service and fresh linen and towels daily. All the reps were fANTASTIC. Hotel is two minute walk from alykanas centre which is relatively quietwith a good selection of bars and resteraunts. So good that we are booking to go back next year.

OverallExcellent Resort

If you are looking for a holiday to relax and keep the kids entertained this is the one for you. Quality of food and drink was excellent but a bit pricey in the hotel. Resteraunts in Alykanas will cost about the same as eating out in the uk.

Just returned from a 2 week stay from the Alayknas Village. The hotel was excellent, clean and comfortable. The air conditioning was a must as the temperature was 40 degrees most days, it was well worth 70 euros for the 2 weeks! The entertainers worked hard all day, every day. It was my daughters 7th birthday during our holiday and they made her feel very special, we ordered a cake from reception which was delicious and they got her on stage to present the cake & eveyone sang happy birthday to her. Alykanas itself has plenty of bars & restaurants to please everyone however the best one we found was on the way to Alikes along the river it was opposite the Best bar. It was spotless clean the food was delicious & was packed out every night, if you went after 9 there was a queue. My children 4 & 7 went to kids club every day & loved it. They also loved Just Jason who was the kids entertainer he was crazy but very funny. If you are planning to go on any trips don't go with Thomson, they are very, very expensive. Walk in to the village and on your right there is a shop called SPECIAL OFFER we booked 3 trips with them and they were all excellent value for money. We (2 adults/2 children) went turtle spotting (saw 3) & to smugglers cover for 60 euros with special offers the same trips with Thomson would cost approx 280 euros!!!! For a family holiday you can't go far wrong with this hotel, I would definately go back but I never visit the same place twice!

This is the first time we have ever been to Greece and we were very impressed with this hotel and all who worked in it.It is in a fantastic location right on the beach and everything you need is in walking distance. The hotel is in the resort of Alykanas and if you walk the opposite way along the river you will be in another small resort called Alykes where you can fish off the small jetty.

The best restaurants we found were DIONISOS, NERAIDA , ROMANZA which all served greek dishes,we also tried ASIAN FEAST which was very nice if you fancy indian/chinese food. The best bars were BUSTERS which also does a fantastic breakfast and has nightly quizzes,ZEUS BAR with its frosted glasses and DILEMA BAR who serve a huge variety of cocktails. My husband reccomends the local beer called Mythos which is half the price of the imported lagers and tastes just as good.

One thing that i would really reccomend is the train ride to the local village where you stop at a taverna and can sample the wines, the train takes you through the countryside and you get to see a bit of traditional life in Zante, you can book your tickets at the Jamm-in bar and your guide is an english lady with lots of knowledge on the area. While we were there we booked a proper greek night with plate smashing and fire dancing.

OverallExcellent Resort

Its a small resort with plenty of restaurants and nice family bars,it really wouldn,t be suitable for those who were looking for nightclubs.

The trips are not very good value. The Jam In bar did a great Greek night on the Saturday, it's not the safest of nights; combining a train ride, dancing, glass banging, fire and tissues but was absolutley fabulous..and great value for money.

The beach was great and the range of pools perfect. The swap boxes for childrens toys etc. was a great idea keeping the children busy.

We are looking at next years holiday and this has set us a high standard to beat, but we will definitly return in a couple of years.

Alykanas is a nice village. There isn't too many shops which I can't decide is good or bad but they have a great range of restaurants. They really cater for families with most having play areas. Only had one bad meal which was in the 30 year old family ...

This was our second time at Alykanas Village the first time was pre-thomson. still an amazing setting right on the beach so choice of three pools or beach daily. Had to get up early and stay there if you wanted to reserve sunbeds before 9am but if you left towels reps would remove them!! (and this is a mainly british hotel) fantastic choice of traditional restaurnats all within walking distance not a bad meal in whole 2 weeks! Hotel staff all really helpful, if there was a problem Gloria(hotel owner) was always happy to help. tried without air con for 2 nights but decided as on top floor and over 100 degrees 2 pay, which we felt was well worth it!! All areas of hotel immaculate with lush green gardens and lawn. I have two teenage kids , 15 and 18. In the day there was lots of activities aimed at under 12's and then over 16's so my 15 year old son couldnt join in even water polo! In the evening the entertainment was mainly for small children i.e Thomson the dog shows etc, the brochure said professional shows and entertainers which never happened in the fortnight we were there. Large team of thomson reps and entertainers who were all most helpful! encouraged kids to join in and make frends!! Hotel snack bar had excellent choice of food and drink but this closed at 6pm and most guests after eating out in an evening didn't bother to come back for poor entertainment and like us stayed in local bars! Overall excellent holiday although more geared for families with smaller kids we would definetly return!!!
