Having read excellent reviews on the Roseland Hotel we were slightly disappointed with our room. Although it was clean, the room smelt damp and the standard of the bathroom was quite poor & the tiny shower cubicle constantly flooded the bathroom. The charge of 60 euros for air conditioning, safe key & key to small fridge for 1wk was rather excessive. Breakfast was ok but very monotonous and we went out for breakfast towards the end of the week as we were so fed up with toast! Pool and facilities were ok but we really can't understand why this place gets such rave reviews - it appeared to be one of the better hotels in Kalamaki but it was certainly not much more than average. Not a bad place to stay - but certainly not the best.

Kalamaki is a nice place to stay - but only if the weather is good! There are some lovely restaurants to visit and the cost of food & drink is quite reasonable. The beach is lovely and the nice & shallow sea is ideal for families. Not much to do when the w...

we have just returned from our second visit to this hotel and would have no hesitation in going back again. the hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly. breakfast is pretty basic, boiled eggs, ham, cheese, cerial, fruit juice & coffee.ten minute walk takes you to the beach or the main strip.swimming pool area is clean with plenty of beds, however pool is quite cool in sept, oct. bus service to laganas and zakynthos is just a five minute walk away we found it quite reliable. the main strip has many restaurants to choose from however i would recomend heavens kitchen we ate there ten nights out of fourteen the food is excellent they have an extensive menu to choose from, staff are so helpful and friendly you just have to go back. overall kalamaki is quite laid back if you just want to chill out however there are trips available for the more adventurous if required

The Roseland was very clean and tidy but would not stay again. Very long walk to the end of the strip and to Crystal beach...which is amazing! Found the staff very patronising in Roseland, i have arthritis and Fibromyalgia, so i asked for better pillows. No help, no offer of anything they could do and one of the Greek girls on reception asked me how i was each time and told me to 'Stay positive' and was very sarcastic. The other one spoke to my husband and looked me up and down each time. There is a British barman, a Northerner who was so sarcastic, everything seemed to much hastle and did'nt really want to chat. So.. bad experience, made our stay less enjoyable. Expensive to hire a fridge and safety deposit box key - 50 euros is a rip off for a week in September! No kettle in room either so we bought our own. Supermarket over road was small, but guy very helpful and friendly as are all the Greeks usually. If you are from 'up North' you'll love this place! Had 1 breakfast in hotel (full of Northerners that looked at us like dirt) and found it to be very basic, had to que with people who were so rude!have'nt met a bunch of more miserable, unsociable people on holiday before! All in all, nice airy room, clean hotel, friendly maid but thats it really, would not stay again i'm afraid! Costas was much more accommadating!

Just had a week at the Roseland Hotel in Kalamaki. What can I say, FAB hotel and the staff are extremely friendly as are most of the greek people. The hotel was very clean and our room was always spotless. The pool was well maintained and there were plenty of loungers and parasols. Would definately recommend this hotel.

The resort of Kalamaki we found has deteriated over the last few years. The beach isn't as clean as it used to be and the main road through the resort needs a bit TLC. On the up side, there are some nice restaurants especially the ESCAPE restaurant which ...

Just arrived back from our first holiday in Zanti, exceeded all expectations, will definitely be returning in 2008. The Roseland hotel could not be faulted, very clean and ideally situated. Staff were very friendly, nothing to much trouble. Pool area is very relaxing food and drink available from the pool bar during the day is very good. Meals at night in the hotel are very good and reasonably priced, we ate in on several occassions. Many good restaurants on the main road, Hera, Pantheon, Ambrosia, Heavens Kitchen, If you just fancy a coffee and cake try the bakery in the main road, very good, high in calories. Planes no trouble at all great to watch them come in over the the long sandy beach about 5mins walk which is ideal for anyone with children. Most of the hotels in this area are modern and stylishly built. Trips to Turtle Island and island tour were very good. Can't wait to go back roll on september 2008
