got back today from zante and feel the need to vent my comments!

having heard so many good things about the hotel and resort we were sorely disappointed with the most miserable staff you could ever encounter in the hotel trade. the hotel itself appears very nice. we had b and b in a ground floor self catering appt.normally i can sleep through a hurricane so was amazed to wake up every day at 5.30 thinking it was raining when really it was the pool filling. then i would wake at 7.15 to certain eager non-english tourists rearranging the sunbeds in anticipation of their sunbathing.

if you are are a cat lover brace yourself to a blind one eyed pregnant cat that appears at the pool every day.i was severely chastised for bringing sand into the foyer and informed to wash my feet outside at once! after this outburst we shied away from the hotel amenities and stayed down the beautiful beach just 10minns walk away.

we ate regularly at marina's pool bar less than 3 mins to the right of the hotel. considering the hotel is only supposed to be a year old we were not impressed with our room. leaky fridge and smelly bathroom. vassilikos is highly recommended to the lazy sunbathers like ourselves, but go somewhere else to stay! tip of the day... get a taxi to airport, only 10 euros and beat the queues, we were the first at the desk and left everyone out on the tarmac baking. eventually sat down in airport half an hour before flight!

Vassilikos is a very small resort with just a handful of tavernas, the perfect place for a very relaxing holiday.
The Arion is extremely friendly and is run by Spyros and his family, nothing is too much trouble for them.
The rooms and public areas are spotlessly clean as is the swimming pool.
There is a selection of hotel rooms or self catering apartments, only the hotel rooms have air conditioning which is a must in the summer months.

The Ionian beach is about a 5 -10 minute walk away and is mostly sandy with a few stones. The umbrellas and sunbeds cost 7 euros a day.
The taverna on the beach is excellent and the views are magnificent.
I would wholly recommend the Arion Hotel and the resort of Vassilikos but only if you want a get away from it all holiday.
