Lemon Garden Apartments And Villas Reviews

We stayed in apartment six of the Lemon Gardens for two weeks from the beginning of September 2006. This apartment was on the 3rd floor of the block and had air conditioning. There are 6 apartments in two blocks and two villas, all situated around the pool. The gardens are very well-kept by Antonis, the owner and, as the name implies, are full of lemon trees. The apartment was spacious, with 2 bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen / living area, extremely clean and had the most wonderful views from both of its terraces, a small one off the main bedroom facing east and a large terrace off the kitchen facing south. There was a large pool in the garden and most days we were the only ones using it. The area is peaceful and so relaxing, the only sounds being from the cows, goats and dogs. Antonis, was very friendly and helpful and came to our rescue when we had locked ourselves out one evening. He speaks very good english. The nearest Cafe / Bar is Barba Nikos approximately 100metres away run by George and his wife, Toula. The snacks that they prepare are huge and after eating some of them we had trouble moving! George like most Greeks is a big football fan and on one occasion when we visited his bar he was showing 3 different football games simultaneously - an English game, a German game and a Greek game.

The nearest shop is about 150 metres away and run by Joanna. It's very well stocked and next to it her parents run a small café.

There are plenty of great places to eat with in a 20 minute walk (or 5 minute drive). Our favourite is Babbis which is next to the village school (10 min walk) or Dionysis in Porta Roma (20 min walk).
The nearest beach is Mavratsis beach approx 600 metres away past the Louis Hotel complex. It's quite a nice beach but very busy with people from the hotels. You can also walk to Gerakas beach but it will take you about 25 - 30 mins. If you have a car Plakas beach, Banana Beach, Porto Zoro and Dafni are all between 5 - 15 minutes away. Our favourite is Dafni. You now have to park at the top of the hill and the Turtle conservation people run a mini bus to the beach.

For Car Hire I can recommend Junior Car Rental at Tsilivi. I have used them for the last 5 years and they will deliver to the airport or your apartment.

We have stayed in Vassilikos every year for the last five years and this is the best accommodation we have found. We'll be back!
