We have just come back from this holiday with Direct Greece (after finding out 2 days before we were due to leave that our original booking with Golden Sun was not going to happen). Got this last minute holiday and pretty much had to take what was left and it was perfect for us. Vasilikos is very quiet and the choice of tavernas limited but we loved Giovanni's. Nothing much in walking distance so hired a cheap moped which was fine for us to see the island on.

Felt the beaches within walking distance of the apartment weren't that great. Beautiful island but the beaches are nothing to write home about. The crystal clear water more than compensates though. Did some diving which was great for visibility but not much to see in terms of marine life.

Would not recommend the boat trip around the island. Had been warned by friends not to bother and shoul've heeded their advice but we like to form our own opinions as everyone is different! If you like sitting on plastic seats for long periods of time and then spending a short while in a small coveof beach with a few hundred other holiday makers then go for it! Cheap but we felt it was a waste of a day.

Finally we loved Olga Apartments. They look brand new and were spotless (ok, a few squished mozzies on the walls now). There are only 12 I believe and they were so quiet and relaxing. Very well equipped and tasteful furnishings. The owners were so lovely despite speaking no english whatsoever and we were still able to communicate. They wanted to me to spread the word about their place and I couldn't recommend them more highly.
