"100 Sunset Boutique Hotel Review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
100 Sunset Boutique Hotel is managed by Aston hotel chain. It's located on 100 Sunset Road Kuta Bali, Indonesia. We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights during our visit to Bali for our friend's wedding in January 2011. We stayed in deluxe room for 2 nights and in superior room for another 2 nights. Location wise, this hotel is quite strategic. Not directly in over crowded Kuta beach area, it's located on the new bypass Sunset road. Strategic because it's only 10 minutes to Ngurah Rai airport, and you can easily heading off to Nusa Dua, Ubud, Tabanan or Kuta beach and downtown Denpasar from Sunset road. This road is a kind of outer ring road connecting the outgoing roads from Kuta and incoming roads to Kuta. Yes, you would need a car, but taxi or car rental are easy to find/book in Bali. Room wise, well, I would suggest you to at least use Superior room or the apartment room if you had budget for this. If you're going with family, I would suggest you to take apartment room. If you're couple or just with a friend like us, I would suggest you to take superior room. The price between deluxe and superior room didn't differ much when we stayed there last January, but the comfort level was different. Deluxe room offered just bedroom and bathroom - while superior room was larger and it had sitting room as well. The hotel doesn't have view, all rooms either facing Sunset road or the empty field behind the hotel. The hotel has swimming pool, a basic swimming pool, and the breakfast room is around the pool. Despite of there's no sunbathing around the pool, the room itself had lots of sunshine in the morning, so you could do sunbathing in the room's balcony (for room on first and second floors). Food was in average taste, but if you're in Bali, I would suggest you to not having dinner or lunch with the hotel. You should do culinaire exploration and try as many as possible restaurants in Bali. There are lots of delicious cuisine from local cuisine to western, italian, and european menu in Bali. Di Mare, and Kalapa in Uluwatu for example, they have very good food and very good view on Uluwatu beach/cliff. Bebek Bengil in Ubud, very nice and tasty, Bumbu Bali, and lots of other restaurants there have and offer very tasty food. The hotel is managed by Aston, but you should not imagine the way Aston resort is. 100 Sunset Road is a boutique hotel which provides good accomodation within Aston standard but with cheaper price than other hotel in Aston chain. Overall, I would say this hotel is still a good value of money, providing what you look here is good room and good location. It's not a resort but if you're going to spend most of the say outside - then it's worth to stay here.
