Capri grossly over-rated and hellishly expensive. Food and drink expensive. Sorrento quite beautiful and charming. Driving - absolute nightmare.

Lido De Jesolo review
"Nice beach but very expensive"
resort to a friend
Lido De Jesolo is exactly what the name says... a beach. Its not got much else. So if you are the beach types then this is a good place to go, but if you are into anything else then you will be bored. Also things here seem unduly expensive, shopping and food and most everything is expensive. We found Venice cheaper! But Lido does have a good family feel about it esp. on the main street.

Limone is a beautiful little resort on the lake side with fantastic views of the surrounding mountains. Little shops down small streets selling souvenirs and local produce make this an quaint place to visit, although some of the streets are steep it is easy to get around. Boat trips and ferries to other towns on the lake are plentyful and all similary priced. The promenard can get busy but there are lots of places to sit and watch the world go by. All in all I would recomend any one to visit Limone.

Rome is a fantastic city! There is so much to do, and is great for all tastes. I was only there for 3 days, I wish it had been longer.
The architecture is amazing, there is history all around. The roman ruins and ampitheatre are well worth a visit, despite the crowds. And the Vatican City, that was just brilliant.
The food was amazing, but do watch the price, especially around the real tourist areas. the best and cheapest options tend to be on sidestreets.
Nightlife was slightly lacking, but the feast of sights for the daytime made up for this.

Didn't go down into the town at night but during the day we walked a lot and saw a lot of the town. Very pretty with lots of flowers and very clean. Lots of little shops selling Italian clothes, you won't find them cheap though although the quality did look very good.

Sorrento is a beautiful unspoilt place to visit. The locals are really friendly. The traffic can be a bit hairy, but it is worth braving it for the sheer beauty of the place. Ideal base for sightseeing.

Resort is beautiful. The surrounding area of Positano, Amalfi is breathtaking. The only downside is the cost of the ferry to Capri and Naples. It is 3 years since we were in Sorrento and the costs have risen dramatically. The ferry to Capri was £40 each for a 20 minute trip and Naples not much better at £33 per person.

A stunning little town up a mountain with amazing scenery and a nice area to watch the locals promenade as only Italians can in the evenings. A good selection of bars ,shops and restaurants as well as some interesting specialist shops and not too much Tat!

Sorrento is a very busy town - the traffic is horrendous (my poor husband was knocked over by a motorbike on one of the quieter streets!), but I understand the centre is closed to traffic in the main season. There are plenty of places to eat and drink, all very pleasant but it is certainly not a cheap place to do so. The lovely old town area is full of little shops, very few tacky souvenir types, though again it could be quite pricey. The main shopping roads were full of interesting shops - some designer and very expensive ones, but we managed to get some nice reasonably priced things to bring back. Would certainly recommend Carapis for handbags and luggage. The marina was a little disappointing (very small) but again may be different in the main season when everything is open. It was certainly a lovely place for sitting relaxing with a coffee or glass of wine and people watching.

Whilst we only had a few days it was really enjoyable and over easter. We went to mass in the Vatican with the pope which was an incredible experience and then went to visit Castel St. Angelo which used to belong to the church but is now state run. Unfortunately we didn't go in the collesium but you could really appreciate it from the outside. Finally the ice cream was delicious.

Incredible city, the only downside is no beach but nowhere is perfect! Great restaurants, great sites and some amazing people. San Siro is a must if you're a football fan aswell.
