Lovely area,very pretty and very clean everywhere,Lake Tour was good,trip to Venice excellent,quite a lot of rain and thunderstorms take a brolly!Local buses go all over and reasonable cost as are the ferries .

We have just returned from the Ancora Hotel in Garda. The resort is very clean and has a good selection of shops ,restaurants and bars. The scenery is beautiful and varies from rolling hills round the south of the lake to very dramatic mountain backdrops at the northern end of the lake. The ferry service is very regular and reliable and enables you to get to all the resorts around the lake. The local people are friendly and helpful. The lake resorts are a good base for exploring the Dolomites and cities like Verona and Venice both of which are worth seeing

Garda itself is a lively place and so clean and the ferry service to all towns on the lake is very frequent and well run. The bus service is also very good. We organised our own trip to Venice by going to Pescheira by bus then the train to Venice (takes 2 hours), but if you are considering this then I would suggest you take the bus to Verona and then the train as there are more buses back from Verona than there is from Pescheira, we had to wait in Pescheira for two hours to get back to Garda. Overall a very good holiday destination and we booked through Shearings and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hopefully we will go back again some time to see all what we missed.
