We stayed in the hotel during the 1st week of May. The hotel is approx. 10 minutes walk to the ferry point and another 5 minutes or so to the bus stop. The staff in the hotel were all EXCELLENT. The hotel itself is spotless. All rooms have side lake views - these are brilliant. The terrace also looks over the lake and is superb - really peaceful. Food is excellent - remember to ask the head waiter for his suggestion for the evening meal. (On my return to the UK I even sent the Manager of the hotel a note to say how much we had enjoyed ourselves). I would recommend this hotel to all my friends and of course if we did go back to Sirmione, I would go back again. Sirmione is great if you want to get to Venice and Verona. Do go to Venice - I know some people say its 'smelly' and 'dirty', but we have now been twice and it isnt (dirty and smelly) and it is a must!

Overall I would rate my holiday 10 /10. Excellent. Enjoy ......

This is the third year I have trusted this web site to choose a holiday, so I thought after a fantastic holiday in Lake Garda in Sept 2006 I would add my comments.

On getting off the coach and walking into the hotel a couple who had just booked out advised us how good the hotel was and the fact they did not want to leave.

We had a room at the back of the hotel with a shared balcony, this did not cause any difficulty because there are sun loungers on the terrace and we were the only ones to bathe there anyway. The beds were comfortable and it was very clean. There was a mini-bar in the room and the TV had BBC1/2 and BBC News, this makes a change from the usual CNN TV News we normally watch in Europe.

The food was excellent and it was pleasant to receive waiter service after queuing endlessly at buffets the previous two years holidays in Spain and Greece. There were three choices of starters, mains and sweets that were varied and the Tiramisu was to die for. The waiters were friendly and very helpful and on many evening we had silver service.

We went on the trip to Florence; it was a long day but this has given us the taste to want to go back.
The Dolomites tour and Bolzano trip are the most memorable to both of us, they are awesome, both of these we took with Thomsons.

We went to the majority of the places around the lake, we travelled on the buses/ferries but they are congested around the 9 in the morning and 5 in the evening, every man for themselves.

In the evenings we just had a gentle stroll and stopped for a coffee or wine in the many sea-front bars. Cappuchinos were on average 2 euros (£1.40) and cocktails (£3.50).

The holiday in general was the most relaxed I had in years and the combination of good hotel, food and resorts made it memorable.

I agree with the previous reviews. Our only complaint is that my Wife and I are vegetarians and they would not cater to our needs. There was also five other vegetarians during our stay and when I asked the head waiter to cook a vegetarian lasagne for all of us he said ";not possible";. When asked to provide pasta with a tomato based sauce he also said ";not possible"; (this is in Italy the land of pasta). We ended up having a starter for starters and a starter for the main course. In my opinion they had your money and they were not interested in deviating from the set menu.

A very good and clean hotel in good location about 300 metres from harbour and restuarant where you can eat or just have a quite drink. Excellent typical Italian food served in the hotel and waiters very friendly. There is a nice walk to the next small town alongside the lake and ferries run to all places around the lake. Found 7 days wasn't really long enough to fit in all the trips we wanted to go on. Tiring but very enjoyable holiday
