The Villa Mulino is a family run hotel and is excellent. It is spotlessly clean and beds are very comfortable. Rooms have air-conditioning/heating and are well furnished and are cleaned every day, beds are turned down for you every evening. You are made to feel very welcome and the entertainement by the owner is fun and very entertaining. It is situated just a couple of minutes walk from the main thoroughfare which takes you down to the lakeside and is next to the bus station. Meals in the evening are three courses plus coffee and a choice of three items for each course. You are issued with a card on check-in and that is what you hand over every time you order a drink and you pay the bill at the end of your stay, but you can pay it daily if you want to.
Garda itself is a lively place and so clean and the ferry service to all towns on the lake is very frequent and well run. The bus service is also very good. We organised our own trip to Venice by going to Pescheira by bus then the train to Venice (takes 2 h...

This was my first visit to Lake Garda and the resort of Garda. The hotel is very nice and comfortable. The rooms are small, but clean and airy with good air-conditioning. We never spent any time in the rooms other than showering or sleeping. The staff were a delight. From the first night when we arrived tired after a three hour delay, the staff had kept the dining room open and served us a with a lovely hot meal. The owner was always present, and worked in all sections.
The hotel is very central and next door to the bus station. The lake front is only about 5 mins walk from the hotel, down a series of narrow quaint streets. A large selection of bars and restaurants can be found in these narrow streets. The lakefront is bustling at all times, with the various markets, cafes and the small ferries that service all the resorts on the lake. From Garda we made several trips on the excellent bus service to Verona (for the opera AIDA), Venice, Sinmione and Gardaland.
I will be returning to Garda and the Villa Mulino.
This was our third holiday in Garda over a period of approx. 18 years - it is one of those places that keeps drawing us back as there is so much to see and do!

We had not stayed at the Villa Mulino but many of the people we spoke to were on return visits some as many as 7/8 times. It is a very friendly, family run hotel and very popular with Italian families as well as being used by two English companies.
The hotel is well situated within the resort adjacent to the bus station and only a very short walk to the old pedestrianised area and lake front where the majority of shops and restaurants are situated. It is also convenient for using the ferries to get around the lake.
Rooms at the hotel are plain but very clean (some traffic noise from those at the side of the road but many are away from that). Other areas(eg: bar, television room, dining room, reception area and lounge) are spacious and well furnished. The pool was well maintained and we never had difficulty getting sun loungers!
We opted for half-board and the meals were well cooked and offered plenty variety during the ten nights we were there. Each week there is a gala dinner(outdoors-weather permitting) and on other nights we had a pizza party and watermelon by the pool bar.
There is entertainment on most evenings usually led by the owner which is a variety of music, dancing, games and karaoke. Karaoke is not usually our scene at all but watching the words on screen and listening to the singers helped improve our limited Italian vocabulary and pronunciation beyond belief!
On our next visit to Garda we will be definitely be amongst the many return visitors to the Villa Mulino!
