AFTER BOOKING THE HOTEL CASTELL I COULD FIND VERY FEW REVIEWS ABOUT IT. ON OUR RETURN I CAN SEE WHY....PEOPLE ARE SURELY KEEPING TIGHT LIPPED ABOUT THIS LITTLE GEM OF A HOTEL.The view from our room was to die for, we left our balcony doors wide open every night in order for it to be the first thing we saw when we woke up. Most evenings after dinner we would sit on our balcony with a bottle of wine and just soak up the atmosphere whilst listening to the live music from the hotel below, which is unheard of for us, as we would normally be in a bar in the resort.

The pool and small garden were lovely, although we didnt spend much time here as there is lots to see and do around the lake. We went over to malcesine a few times and enjoyed a fab lunch for my 40th, riva was also lovely, but sirmione at the south of the lake was very touristy and we didnt enjoy it very much so were glad to head back to limone. i would recomend this hotel to anyone who rates a lake view as a top priority as it completely blew me away. we would deffinitely return to this hotel as do lots of people. Pleasant helpful staff, good food, clean towells everyday and the best views on the lake.... perfect.

Hotel Castell was very comfortable and the views of the lake and mountains from the balcony is breathtaking. The food was very good and the staff very friendly and helpful. Many people we met in the hotel come back year after year and we certainly will be back to the Hotel Castell The 107 steps to the centre are not bad at all.

Hotel Castell had an amazing view overlooking the Lake Garda in Limone 6* views at 3* prices. Unfortunatley though you have to pay extra for the rooms with a view, much to the dismay of a few guests who had not been told this and did not get a view. There are 107 steps to the centre but it mentions this in the brochure and it is not a problem as they are staggered.

The food was not up to 3* standards with tinned carrots and tinned potatoes one night, and some type of pasta to start every night but it was edable.

The room was clean if however a little basic but the view made up for it.

We went to the Dolomites, Venice, Verona, and Florence but unfortunately the coaches are not allowed to collect from the Hotel so you have to walk about 12 mins to the centre to be collected and dropped off. This is not easy when the coaches depart for the trips around 6am or 7am. It would have been easier if we had been told to meet at the Hotel Splendid which was just down the road albeit a small narrow road for traffic.

Trips were brilliant but the tour guide felt on a number of trips that she had to talk constantly. After a while you did tend to shut off regarding what she was saying.

The holiday was splendid and we had a lovely time There was not many families around just maily middle aged and older couples. I cannot fault Lake Garda and would certainly return at a future time
