Sorrento is a good place to see every thing,public transport is in the town and the trains are cheap which are next to the buses.Boats sail from the harbour to Naples,Capri,Ischia and places down the Amalfi coast all worth seeing. Mount Vesuvius you can see from any view point. Trips to Rome are available plenty of places to eat and drink, lots of lovely narrow streets easy to walk around and feel safe.One word Lovely.

Sorrento is a really nice place, and the coastline is breathtaking. We really enjoyed it, having few people around was great and restaurants, shops etc bend over backwards to look after you. Positano was beautiful. That was the highlight. Probably one of the best winter trips we have been on.

Fantastic city, great atmosphere, very frantic!!!! The markets are well worth checking out, and the main historical centre is fascinating. Lovely shops too, but there are also some very run down and poor parts, so look after your belongings! Didn't bother visiting Pompeii as we have been before to Sorrento and went then.

Sorrento is a great resort, as are the places nearby. Positano is especially beautiful, and to be there in the sun but without the crowds is great. We did get one rainy day, but it was otherwise sunny and fairly mild, like an April day in England.

Amalfi is gorgeous. Maybe more suitable for people 20 and over who are not of the booze culture. Loads to see, ie. pompei, sorrento, capri. Expensive, cappuchinos were E2.50 to E3.00 depending on whether it was in the main square or not.

The town (it says it's a city) is small and with reasonably friendly people. There are no facilities such as entertainment - no cinemas, bowling alleys, bingo halls etc. just an arcade with slot machines and pin-balls etc. occupied by local youths in the town square. It is a spa town but the spa facilities appear to be permanently closed. If you want shopping then most of the souvenires are religious based - crosses, crucifix's, statues of Madonna and Child etc. there are other standard shops for clothing, electronics, bedding etc. but these are comparatively expensive. Do not have the misfortune to be in Fuggi between the hours of 12 noon and 7.00 pm because it is closed. It becomes a ghost town each day. Shops open again at 4.oo pm but hot food is not served until 7.00 pm. There are 4 bars which stay open and you can get sandwhiches etc. There are no fast food outlets such as Macdonalds.

Sorrento is a beautiful town easy to walk around - and a good base for exploring the Amalfi coast. Try the local transport and save loads of money, v easy and safe to get around on trains/buses.

i would definatley visit sorrento again in the future. there is plenty to see and do in the town itself and also lots to see and do in that particular region of italy.

Brilliant resort, so beautiful. My boyfriend really wanted to go to Pompei which I was dreading cos I found it so boring in histiry, but it was sooo fun!

Fantastic town. You must go for lunch at the Foreigners Club with the view to Mt Vesuvius! Also you must get the bus to Positano and Amalfi. The train to Pompeii is extremely cheap.

A fantastic resort, sitting enjoying a wine and Italian coffee in the main square just can't be beaten. The views are superb, and the area is really interesting.

Beautiful resort! The foreigners club at lunch is a must. Even more beautiful is the beach at Positano, you really must visit!

We really like Sorrento, it is a beautiful place. I like all of the shops along the sidestreet, though quite near our hotel there is a little bar that shows the premier league football, so my husband was happy! The coastline is spectacular, it must be visited!

Nice little resort - very busy but some quaint streets with hidden shops and churches. Head to the foreigners bar for amazing views over the bay of Naples and Vesuvius

Sorrento is a beautiful town, right on the cliff edge. Great shops, bought home some lovely gifts. You must go to the ice cream shops, lovely treats!
