The hotel is situated in the middle of the resort with it's own part of the beach reserved for hotel guests.

The hotel is 4* and lives up to this reputation but in true Italian style the rooms are on the small side. Everything is spotless and well cared for and it seems to have been re-furbished recently.

Breakfast is a set continental style menu. Dinner is an anti pasta buffet of salad followed by a pasta course then a main course and dessert. The pasta and main courses have to be chosen the day before. The standard is very high and the choice excellent. You can order wine etc from the drinks menu which is reasonable and any left over wine is corked and set on your table the next night.

The hotel situation is ideal for the evening promenade that taks place each night and the beach furniture is well mainatained.

Overall an hotel that is well above the average for a beach holiday in a typical Italian beach resort.

Let's start at the beginning; there are about 15 steps to the hotel reception and no lift until inside the building. Ok, so the hotel bedrooms are small. But they are clean and the en suite facility is as good as we've encountered. Tv in the room has just 2 english channels, both news channels. There is a safe in the room. The brochure says you don't have to pay, the hotel try to charge you, so beware. The hotel food justifies its 4 star rating. Fabulous. The service is friendly and competent. Do go and find the sun trap on the roof, with terrific views and a peaceful place to sunbathe.

The hotel Brioni Mare is just 50 metres from a sandy beach with a shallow wander into beautifully clear blue water, brilliant for kids. Sunbeds are abundant and comfortable, the nuisance on the beach is thoroughly irritating wandering sales people, offering towels, fake tattoos, massages, cheap jewellery. This is a minimum of 7 or 8 times per hour. Pretending to be asleep was a successful policy!

Cycle hire from the hotel is cheap, but check your brakes!! There is a better value, proper bike hire place on the main street no more than 100 yards away. It's worth riding all the way to the lighthouse at one end of Lido di Jesolo and it is flat , with well marked cycle lanes.

Beware the quality of service from the rep. There were no notices on the board for Airtours, nor any literature at reception. If we had realised at the welcome meeting, we would have asked more questions than we did! Like, how will we know what time we are to be picked up for our return journey? Luckily, the hotel reception staff were fantasic and so helpful.

If, during the day, you fancy a coffee/ice cream/whatever, take the small amount of extra effort to go to the 70 metres to the main street, where the quality and value for money of the ice creams soar way above those on the promenade.

Buying your holiday direct from the hotel, rather than through travel agents, will save you about £100 per person, so we discovered (too late!).

We got back 2 hours ago, I feel rested and ready for the real world again. If you are thinking of either the resort or the hotel we stayed at, you won't go far wrong.

This hotel really lives up to the 4 star award, the staff are fantastic, the food served is the best, they cater for all tastes, if you did not fancy any of the choices for the following day that was on the menu as long as you booked it the night before your request would be accepted,
just point it out to the head waiter.

the rooms are fully fitted with air con and all have views from balconies, full maid service every day, clean towels every day and little bathroom gifts,in the evening they come and prepare your room for the night.the attention paid to the cleaning wasd excellent.

The bar was well equipped and the barman was the great, nothing was a problem,he went out of his way to assist,we spent many a good evening here chatting to him,his english is excellent and helped with any problems with the language.

The reception staff again were very helpful pointing out what was the best way to get around, how to use the local transport, gave us the best advice for venice and the local makets.
The hot tub on the roof is a must at only 3 euros it is well worth it,the roof has fantastic views and if you did not want to lie on the beach there was plenty of sun lonugers to use.
the pool at the front of the hotel was spotless, the pool attendant was cleaning this twice aday, this area becomes hot but the pool area has loungers with shades,

the pool has a jacuzzi at one end, this pool is not deep and though as an adult you are at most shoulder deep at the deepest end, it is a clean and very well maintained.
The resort it self was very lively in the main squares there is some form of entertaiment most nights,ie the visiting casino, the music fest, the antique market,
the museums and parks are open in the evenings and are worth the visit, cheap.

The beach area was vey clean and we had no problems with are belongings being left while in the water, would recommend water shoes as the sand is to hot to walk on in bare feet.
this resort has some great restaurants, pizzeria carva is great and not expensive, very good looking waiters,
we only found one or two places expensive
though it did not put us off, still cheaper than london.
should you decide to go off to venice use the local bus/boat 12euros each, alot cheaper than using the reps tour(35 euros) and once in venice look out for the restaurants that offer an all in menu, this is normally 3 courses with service charges included, they average about 18 euros, though drinks are not included,we had a meal with drinks just outside St Marks sq for 40 euros for 2,you can find mcdonalds and burger king here, they are cheaper than the uk.

This was a great holiday the hotel and resort, we relly did not want to come home, we will be returning.
