We had a fantastic holiday in Jesolo. It is a perfect family holiday destination - lots to keep children occupied. The beach is a bit regimented with rows of sunbeds but when we were there it was never too crowded. The beach shelves very gently into the sea so children can play safely in the water.

Aqualandia is well worth a visit and is one of the best water parks I've been to; it also has a brilliant 24 hole mini golf course!

If you go to Venice I'd recommend going by local bus and fery. Return tickets to Jesolo cost around ?16 pp. Venice gets very busy so be prepared to be jostled! Avoid the queues for St Marks Basilica by visiting late afternoon. Although absolutely stunning, Venice has prices to match so I would suggest taking plently of drinks and buying dinner in one of the many bakeries rather than eating in a restaurant. A coffee in St Marks Square will set you back around ?9!

Hotel Helios is excellent. It's spotlessly clean with excellent food and attentive service. The hotel is in a lovely quiet spot - two mins from beach and main shopping area. There isn't a children's menu so if you have fussy eaters this may not be the hotel for you; all the meals are traditional Italian dishes with lots of seafood.

Overall, I don't think you can go wrong at this hotel and resort - we are already planning next year's visit! Enjoy!!

Just got back from a fab holiday, and 1 resort/hotel i would recomend.
Airport:-
Marco Polo is a nice enough airport, with plenty of shopping in departures.
We self booked our holiday so we caught the bus from the airport to Lido de jesolo. If you do it this way getting your luggage on to the bus and getting a seat can be a bit of a scamble. The bus takes you to the bus station. From there you catch the number 3 bus which takes you down the resort on the road adjacent to the main drag of all the bars and shops. If you get off at the stop near Hotel Frank and cross the road cut through Hotel Helios is a minute walk away. All in all for 4 people our transfers cost us 16 euros (£10) each way.

Hotel:-
Helios is a very plesent freindly hotel, with fantastic staff. Rooms are spotless and cleaned every day. Food is al a carte for evening meal and waiter servered with a good choice. Probably my ownly moan is there is not a big veggie or fussy kids chioce on the menu.
The pool is spotless and cleaned most mornings. Getting a sunbed was never a problem at any time of the day. Most people would just tend to come and go whenever through the course of the day.
The hotel is idealy situated, sitting in between the main drag and the beach.

Beach:-
Each Hotel on the beach had its own private part of the beach whith its own deck chairs and sun loungers. There are more than enough to go round and like the pool side people just tended to come and go whenever.
About every 75 yards there are life gaurds. There is plenty of on beach cafe's for food and drink.
Yes there is lots of pedlers walking up and down every 5 minutes but they will only bother you if you show any intrest.
On the beach there are loads of peddle boats 9 euros (£6) per hour to hire good fun for the kids. Just one note of warning there was a few jelly fish in the water do not no how bad a sting they gave but no one would touch them. you can spot more of them the further you go out in the peddle boats.
Also from the beach there are pirate boat trips i did not go on them but we did talk to a family who did said it was ok did not miss much.

Resort:-
The resort is very european, no Mcdonalds, KFC's ect. All the bars are relaxed and farely low key. Some do have some singers or karoke. Food and drink is all fairly priced. There is lots of small arcades with kids rides in them. During the evenings the road is closed to traffic, only push bikes and the peddle bikes and the tourist train are allowed, which is a great idea stops all the pavements from being solid the tourists. It does great really busy in the evenings with lots of people walking around.
Within walking distance of the hotel is Aqualanda water park 10/10 we went twice it was that good. about 20 euros each to get in (under 5 free). Make sure you take your passport because in the afternoons you can free bungee jump (over 18 only). Lots of shows and one of the tallest water slides in the world, the PACEMAKER, Awsome.
We went to Jesilo market on friday morning there are buses you can catch without having to pay your tour operator (ask at reception in hotel). Not that fantastic very average to what you get back in england.

Venice:-
Everything you hoped it was it is, fantastic place to visit. A little more expensive than resort prices for food but if you shop around you can find some reasonble prices.
If you want a go on a gondola they are expensive but you can barter. If you don't get the price you want on the first try a few others expect to pay around 60 euro upwards.
We made our own way there brought bus/boat ticket for 14 euros (£10 return each) from hotel reception. This gave us the freedom to come and go as we wanted. The tour operators at the hotel was charging 39 euros (£30) each for a return to venice.

We have just come back from one week's holiday and had a wonderful time there.

The hotel staff are very helpful- especially the receptionists. They advised us on a day trip to Venice - which is worth doing as it's so close. We took a bus to the port and a ferry across for 16 euros each. Venice is breathtaking.

The food is extremely good at the hotel. We ate a traditional Italian 5-course meal each evening which was waiter service. Meals are selected the previous night and there are 3-4 choices for each course. The wine list has a varied selection that's reasonably priced. Breakfast is buffet style and if you practice your Italian you can also attempt to order eggs and bacon!

The hotel has a nice pool with plenty of loungers as well as a section on the beach where there are more loungers to use free of charge.

The resort is fairly lively with miles of cafes, restaurants and tourist shops.

Despite not always having good weather we had a fabulous holiday at the Helios. The odd niggle you can discover for yourself. But, the hotel is clean, comfortable, friendly and has a fabulous restaurant.

Hotel Helios was small-ish and extremely friendly with very helpful staff who couldn't do enough for you. The hotel was absolutely spotless and the rooms were cleaned to an exceptionally high standard daily. The food was excellent going half board with a menu selection for the following night to ensure you ate what you wanted.

The resort was lively but not too much - the drinks in the local bars and in the hotel were well priced and well measured!!!!!
We were initially booked into hotel harry's which is 3* accomodation and well used by English tourists but on arrival at the resort we were over the moon to be upgraded to hotel helios a 4* especially when you compared this accomodation to hotel harry's......there was no competition!!!!!! Hotel helios was small, clean and very undisturbed unlike harry's. We were the only people around the pool for most of the day and the hotel has its own sunloungers and beds on the beach especially reserved for the patrons of their hotel!

The nightlife was available if it was wanted but also a nice quiet meal in one of the local restaurants was amazing......although saturday nights in the restaurants gets busy with locals so eat early!!!!!!

The trip to venice was easy and hassle free, buy a pass from the local tobacconist for 10 euro's rather than the resort rep and take the very easy bus ride to the boat terminal and thena short boat trip into venice.....well worth the trip and a very inexpensive way of getting there! (the bus' and water taxi's run until approx 11.30 pm).
