The hotel has recently been re-furbished so the pool area etc appeared to be much better than neighbouring hotels. The staff could not have been friendlier - literally nothing was too much trouble.
Although the hotel was not a classic 'family' hotel, they were very accomodating and caring towards our daughters. The pool had a shallow end and there is a childs splash pool. The only slight negative for us dinner is not served until 7.30pm and is served at a relaxed (and very pleasant) Italian pace. This lead to tired and irritable children!
The food was plentiful and of excellent quality.
We visited Venice by catching the local bus (No 5) and then a boat. Although this was cheaper than the organised trip (18 euros as apposed to 45 euros) the bus was very crowded and didn't have air conditioning. We would highly recommend Aqualandia (the water park). It was within a close walk and very well laid out. The water shutes were suitable for all - from the highest water shute in Europe to slides for toddlers. We had such a pleasant day and couldn't fit everything in that we went back the following day.
This is an excellent resort and hotel that we would highly recommend for families looking for a relaxing holiday with Venice etc nearby.

We arrived at the hotel after a week of touring round Italy and it was a very welcomed stress-free ralaxing week.
The hotel was clean with freindly and helpful staff. The room was cleaned daily and we had fresh towels daily also. The dining room and food was excellent and well presented. Be careful in what you ask for as there are a few extra hidden costs. The sunbeds around the pool costs 7.50 euros but on the beach it is free and you get your own beds and sun brolly allocated to you for the duration of your stay with access to the pool or the sea. The safety deposit box was free, just ask for the key at reception and you can hire pedal bikes for as long as you want at no cost. You do have pay for the air conditioning to be switched on in your room at a cost of 8 euros per day. We thought this was extreme as the temperatures were in the mid 30's and was a must to have on.
The resort offered pretty much everything for any age group. The main street is closed to traffic at night and you can stroll along the shops and bars, just watch out for the bikes and noddy train.
Lots of ice cream parlours too. The Piazza Auroura has a stage built up and has various acts and musicians on which was light hearted entertainment. Prices in the bars are pretty much what you would pay at home.
The local market is on a Friday in the old town which is easy to get to by public bus and cost 2.40 euros each. Lots of stalls and bargains galore if you're prepared to barter.
The locals all flock to the coasts on a Sunday for there day off so beware, it does get extremely busy and be weary of pick-pockets and beggers.

We stayed at the Hotel di Soleil by default, as our chosen accommodation, the D'Annunzio, had closed early, so Cosmos moved us. The hotel itself was extremely good and the staff very friendly and helpful - we couldn't fault anything at all. We didn't eat out because the food in the hotel was so good, but there are lots of interesting looking restaurants and gellaterias around. Room service was excellent, rooms cleaned daily and clean towels also provided daily. Can also recommend public transport. Don't be tempted to book an excusion into Venice as it's so easily accessible by public bus and boat. The tickets cost us 15 euros each, which also gave us unlimited travel on the vaporettos, and must be bought at the local tobacconist before you get on the bus. Venice was wonderful and we can thoroughly recommend it - magic! We went twice - both in the day and at night.
Definitely going to the Hotel di Soleil again.
