Overall Hotel Rating:
After hearing good reports about this hotel we are delighted to say it did live up to expectations and we had two wonderfully relaxing weeks in Italy.Food is traditional fare with no offers of bangers and mash or fish & chips but it was a pleasure to try the different types of food available.Staff were always helpful and the rep always ready to help without being pushy.Highlights of this holiday were trips to Venice,Verona Lake Garda & Treviso

"Excellent Hotel"
Overall Hotel Rating:
My sister and I have just returned from 1 weeks holiday in the Principe Palace Hotel & I felt that I had to write a review about the hotel. The staff were all very helpfull and pleasant from the receptionist, bar staff, restaurant staff to the maids. We are both vegetarian and the restaurant manager Paulo said if there was nothing on the menu that we liked that pasta would be made for us we did not have to order anything different as the meals were wonderfull. There is a very large salad buffet, soup and desert buffet. One evening during the week there was a Gala buffet which was absolutely wonderfull everyone loved the food. After this there was live music in the bar and Gigi one of the barmen a great asset to the hotel got most people up to dance. A lovely evening. The hotel itself is wheelchair friendly and is family run I booked independantly with Max one of the brothers and was very pleased with the price as it saved me about £350 I also booked a taxi transfer return from the airport through the hotel and it was well worth it, very pleasant driver. The hotel is on the piazza manzzini square & can get noisy at night but if you close your patio doors it blocks out the noise, the air conditioning is very good if you need it and in our room situated by the light switch by the bed. Unfortunately the weather was not so good but it did not spoil the holiday as the hotel & staff are so good. I would recomend this hotel to anyone, we travel at least twice per year & when we find a good hotel we always return & we will. The area is very flat so it is good for whelchairs & buggies the beach is lovely if you get the weather, the shops are very near & glass jewelry not too expensive you are very near to Venice ( not too good for wheelchairs ) but to sit in Florians & watch the world go by listening to a 5 piece orchestra wonderfull. All in all a very good holiday & experiance.

"Excellent Holiday"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Excellent holiday at this hotel, reception, accommodation, food and all staff were excellent. Room is complete with a safe and a small fridge. A refundable deposit for the safe and no charge for the fridge.
Breakfast was a wonderful selection of hot and cold dishes. Dinner was chosen the night before and waiter service for the starter and main course. The self service salad selection and choice of desserts was extensive and very attractive.
The taxi transfer, arranged by the hotel, from/to the airport was very handy, may appear expensive but takes all the pressure of getting buses and carrying suitcases out of your hands.
We travelled into Venice on two separate days and found this to be enough time to see the sights and take the "must do" gondola trip which was very expensive but you can't go to Venice and not take a ride in a gondola. Venice was very expensive, even charge one Euro to use the toilet. It is a unique city and worth seeing but I I would not be rushing back.
We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary during our holiday and the hotel made a nice presentation of a framed picture of the Grand Canal in Venice. This was very much appreciated.
"PLEASE, SIR. CAN I HAVE SOME MORE ?"
Overall Hotel Rating:
My son and I stayed here in May for a week. I booked this holiday with Thomas Cook. I am disabled and filled in a special needs form, advising them that I could not use steps. When we arrived at the hotel I was offered a room on the third floor with five steps from the lift to the hotel lobby. I complained and was told the hotel was full up, even though people were coming and going constantly they refused to move me and the rep couldn't care less. I was advised to use the staff lift, which had large metal containers in front of it and mosquitoes around it ! Our hotel room was facing a bulding site and the noise from the refuse van woke us every morning at 5.30 a.m.A coke can and cig ends were left next to the lift for 2 days - even though I complained. The main course is just a VERY tiny portion with no veg. The cooked breakfast was the worst I've ever had. We gave up on most of the food after a couple of days. For an example , I ordered Rabbit and got two dry, rubbery, tiny pieces that looked like two quarters of a leg on my plate with nothing else - you fill up with salad. I booked a trip with 12 others and the staff refused to open the restaurant five minutes early for breakfast. We were given a tiny drink and a bun. I asked for a normal sized coffee and was shouted at and insulted. Ants were crawling up our bags. I paid 1,300 pound for this holiday and the hotel was a let down to say the least.

"Best hotel I have been to "
Overall Hotel Rating:
Quite simply the best Hotel I have ever stayed at !!
Don't bother going here if you like hotels that try to serve up English meals to stop those that go overseas (who would be better off going somewhere in UK) from moaning about lack of chips or fish fingers for the kids. The food here is the real deal and if you look at their website and the video of the dining area, I guarantee that what you see is what you get, The Manager Max often eats in the restaurant with you to make sure everything is up to standard (I would say, looking at him his standards are high!) We only ate away from the hotel once and then that was only because we went to Venice for the day, There was no point as the food was so good, plentiful and varied we doubted that you would get better in any of the local restaurants. The local speciality night was the only night you did not get a menu to choose from, but do not despair the food was out of this world and something for everyone and I am a picky person that does like not having a choice.
The room we had was always very clean and serviced daily to a very high standard. Our balcony, though small was adequate for sitting on and watching the life in the Piazza Mazzini below and having a glass of wine or beer. You would often see the Manager stood out on the Piazza looking proudly at his hotel and checking that all was well no doubt.
The pool was on the roof with lots of sunbeds and umbrellas in sunny and shady spots. The pool bar was well run and the food again was to a high standard from what I saw of it, but to be honest with what we had for breakfast we didnt need lunch!
The hotel staff were all top class and so very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble for them. You could tell that it mattered to them what opinion you took away with you and that you had a great stay with them.

"Hotel Principe Palace review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
What can I say about this hotel, absolutely wonderful. Spotlessly clean, staff very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food was excellent too. I have seen some reviews that say you should fill up with salad before the meal. We had a small salad to start with then 3 courses, couldn't move after that. Breakfast is a bit of the same every day but certainly plenty to eat. Two brothers own the hotel and when we all got on the bus to leave they stand outside the bus, shake hands and thank you for your custom. Very nice touch.
Resort excellent, only fault I think with it is the local buses don't seem to go to many different places and you can't just stand at a bus stop and get on. The tickets are from newsagents, plenty of them about though. Certainly plenty of cafes, ice cream parlours, mmmmmmm delicious, and bars to sit and have a nice glass of wine and people watch. Italians like to stroll on an evening. It is very relaxing indeed.
Went to Florence, beautifull city, long drive though. The meal we had with the guide was in a Florentine palace, just lovely huge rooms, beautiful furnishings and the food was good too, 19 euros each with wine and water included. Venice not so good, place is wonderful but meal with guide wasn't very good, choice of 4 main courses and then dessert was a kind of icecream thing in a tub like you would buy in a supermarket. 13 euros each with wine and water, not bad for Venice but could have had a nice meal in a small cafe for the same.
Would definately go back to this resort and to the hotel. Worth every penny we paid.

Overall Hotel Rating:
Resort is in my opinion more for family holidays. Hotel was excepional, 4 star plus in my book. Rooms were cleaned with new towels and bed maid everyday.
Dont go on a tour operator excursion to venice as you will not get much free time. Instead use public transport, get the No. 5 bus and then the LN water bus to venice. If you get the 8.50 bus you will get into Venice by 10.30 and if you get the 5.15pm LN water bus back, this connects with the No, 5 bus, you will be back around 6.50. Cost of Ticket 19.60 Euro's for a roaming day ticket. This will enable you to use all the other water buses to move around Venice and go to the other Island's.
Beer was 4 Euros for 0.4lt, soft drink 2.50 Euro and tea or coffee aoproximatley 1.60 Euro. Not the cheapest place to go on holiday.
If you have to buy anything in Venice, do so away from St Marks square. Although it will not be much cheaper.
The food in the hotel was excellent although it would be better if they changed the options for breakfast. Free bike hire cards and table tennis are available.
Please note that the pool is not heated.

"Hotel Principe Palace review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Have just returned from a weeks stay at the Prinicpe Palace, our first time to Italy- and what a wonderful time we have had.
The hotel is amazing- the rooftop swimming pool is lovely and we found plenty of sunbeds. Yes the pool is cold- but warms up quick when you are in it! We had a huge room at the side- with a huge balcony! Very clean too!
The buffet breakfast is really good- with cooked breakfast, cereal, fruit, toast etc, the evening meals were just as good- but dont fill up on the salad before your starter or you wont eat it all- we recommend getting the salad to go with the main course! Particularly enjoyed the buffet night on a wednesday!
The resort of lido is really nice- we borrowed bikes from the hotel which i recommend for getting around.
Went to a few bars but too tired to do much- think some of the bars are open til 4am- and there are a few clubs- but we never stayed out that late!!
Spend a day on a trip to Venice with Thomson- we did appreciate the safety of having a guide there- but found the city tour a bit disappointing- expected to do a bit more than St Marks Square!! Went back for a second day independently- you can get a bus from Piazza Drago- which costs 6.5 euro return- drops you by the bus station in Venice- or a water bus- if you get the bus to Punta Sabioni! Venice is very dear- but good old mac donalds was selling burgers for 1 euro- if you are starved and cant afford st marks square prices.
Another tip- we got the train from Venice to Verona- it takes an hour and a half and costs 12 euros return- cheaper than the tours with Thomson I think- and you get time to explore this beautiful city. The shops are good here!
All in all it was the best holiday we have ever had- and fell firmly in love with Italy would def go back. However if you want cheap clothes italy is not the place- but wine is very cheap- visisted a beautiful vineyard- vignaluna- and found their fragolina- strawberry wine devine!

"Hotel Principe Palace review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Had a great holiday, the third time to Jesolo. The hotel was everthing we hoped. The food was very good and the two girls did not opt for the childrens meals once in 14 days. Large choice for both breakfast and evening meal. (more than enough to eat)The outstanding customer service is genuine and everyone is smiling and willing to help.
The hotel is one minute from the excellent clean beach. A big bonus apart from the free sun beds, is that the children met their new friends on the Principe Palace section of the beach, and happily played together.
The only drawback is the cost of the drinks in Lido, Venice etc. Expect to pay about 3 euros for a can of sprite. The resort is clean and the main road closes at night which mean families can walk in safety. There is a police presence, unlike the UK and it is very safe.
It costs about 15 euros for a day pass for transport by bus and boat to Venice and unlimited travel round the city. Tickets are bought from the newsagents opposite the hotel. We went to Venice four times and it is not worth going on an organised trip.
The rep (Helen) was outstanding and very helpful. We went to Florence with Tompsons, which was 4 hours away. The trip was worth it, but we went on the extra evening meal which was poor value for money due to the food quality. Also watch out for the very expensive ice creams, we got carried away and were robbed!
On previous visits, we went to Verona and Lake Garda which was a good day out. We also went to the Verona Opera which was memorable and an unforgetable experience. The trip to Paduva was also very good and the Basilica of Saint Anthony was another superb achitectural marvel.
Lido and especially the Principe Palace is the perfect holiday setting as it allows visits to nearby cities as well as lazing on the beach.
I could include the special features of the Principe Palace, but this would spoil the surprise. Just one example though- the manager, and bar staff all lined up to shake hands as we boarded the coach on departure - that was a first!
The best family holiday we have had

"Hotel Principe Palace review"
Just come back from the Principle Palace Hotel, would recommend this hotel to anyone.
First impression was 1st class. We had a famliy room, 1 x double and bunk beds the room was of a good size, cleaned thoroughly everyday. Food in hotel was excellent, especially the salad bar. The first courses are lovely, but second course very sparse but nice, desserts are fab, be prepared to put on a few pounds. No evening entertainment though, except once a week on roof top pool side, staff very friendly, especially, waiters, maids etc.
The only fault with this hotel is the pool, which was ALWAYS cold, not many sunbeds either and drinks were very expensive, we spent most of the time on beach though. You do have selected part of the beach and free deckchairs, but you can pay for sunbeds 3.00 euros each. Lots of supermarkets around quite cheap to buy drinks to keep in your fridge. The holiday rep Helen was fab.
We went on 4 orginised trips which were excellent but expensive, you can do yourselves alot cheaper. The Venice trip was brillant, well organised and our tour guide Jenny was very good. We did Florence, this was a very long day especially for the kids, 4 1/2hours to get there. The best trip was to Cortina/Dolamites fantastic day, especially the cable ride. The last trip was to Gardaland this was terrible, a massive theme park like Alton Towers, but full of Italians who do not no how to queue, the average queuing time was 1-2 hours long for each ride. Be prepared for a very very long day, not worth the money, better off going to Aqualand. The hotel location was perfect, right in the middle of everything where at night everyone hangs out, although if you have one of the front rooms this can be quite noisy, we were on the side of hotel, had no problems with noise.
Overall, a brillant holiday would recommend to anyone

Just returned from a week at Lido di jesolo staying at Hotel Principe Palace. We had a really lovely holiday. The hotel is excellent, clean, friendly, air conditioned. The food is wonderful. Buffet salad lots of variety, choice of 4 starters and 4 main courses which you order the night before and help yourselves to sweets.
Our room was at the back of hotel we were very glad of that as the square in front of the hotel can get very noisy! room was clean and comfortable very good air conditioning. Pool area spotless good reasonable lunches.
Resort is busy and can be noisy but not threatening I felt very safe here. The roads are cleaned every morning, the beach is busy very well organised and very clean not much room for sports or sandcastle building though, sea is warm.I would highly recommend this hotel and resort especially for couples or families with older children. If you are looking for a quiet holiday with deserted beaches this is not for you.

"Hotel Principe Palace review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We had an excellent holiday. Perfect for our young children.
The resort has a wonderful beach and safe for children to play on. There are many machines and small arcades to keep the children amused all the way along the strip, which is also lined with bars and restaurants and many shops. The ice cream parlours are a must to sample all the different flavours.
The whole resort felt very safe and we expirenced no trouble during our stay.
We went on a trip to Venice which was a lovely expirence if a little awkward with the pushchair due to all the stepped bridges. You can find very reasonably priced cafe's if you venture away from St Marks Square and walk through the vary narrow paths that make up this amazing city. We found it to be much cheaper to buy a bus ticket from the tabbaconist near the hotel rather than book a proper tour with our rep, but you do not get any guide.
The hotel was excellent. Very clean, freindly staff, nice size rooms. The roof top swimming pool was very nice even though the water was rather cold when you first get in. The food was very good quality with only the main course letting it down, but you could easily fill yor self up from the salad bar and with the starters.
A lovely touch when we was leaving was the owner of the hotel seeing everyone onto the coach and shaking everbody's hand and thanking them for staying there.
I would most definitley go back to this resort, and would definitley stay at this hotel.

"Hotel Principe Palace review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Hotel
The reception and lounge have a very upmarket feel, well decorated and furnished with plenty of seats. There is no entertainment, so the lounge is mainly used for waiting for the coach to go to the airport. There is direct access to a Hotel owned cafe, with indoor and outdoor seating.
It is located in one of the main squares, so the outdoor seating is very good for people watching, the highlight being the police towing away vehicles parked in the square in the evenings, when it's pedestrianised. It is a 2/3 minute walk to the sea, where the hotel has its own section of the beach. The rooms facing the square have the best views, but seem to be rather small. As there were 3 of us, we had a larger room at the back of the hotel facing a side road. The view was not very interesting and other rooms at the back were facing other rooms, so their views were worse. So, if you a party of 3 or more it seems as if you will probably have to accept that you will have a back facing room, but these were of an acceptable size. However, the room was well furnished and kept immaculately cleaned every day, so we had no complaints.
The hotel had about 100 rooms, so is relatively small, this is reflected in their dining arrangements, with a more limited choice than in the larger Spanish hotels and shorter opening hours (Dinner - last servings at 8.15)The breakfast is very similar to other hotels, but the hot items were fresh, of good quality and well cooked.
For dinner, You specify your choice of starter and main course, the night before, a choice of 4 for each. Their menu has a somewhat pompous introduction about the quality of the food, which, unfortunately raises expectations to a level that is not always achieved. However, both the starters and main course were of an acceptable 4* standard. There is also a buffet salad as a first course, which is similar to that served in Spanish hotels, but not so extensive. It is of good quality, but tends to start to run out, so if you arrive at 8.00pm, your choice could be even more limited.
There was a buffet of sweets, of good quality and a fair choice.
You have your own table, that you keep for the week; the service is excellent, probably the most efficient that I've experienced.
The pool was on the top of the building and it seemed clean with sufficient sunbeds and umbrellas.
The reception had plenty of staff and was both efficient and friendly.
So, overall, a very professional and friendly hotel, conveniently located, as long as you do not require a sea view.Resort
A long (5 miles ?) and thin and flat resort, with, essentially, a wide sandy beach with a promenade, hotels behind, then a partly pedestrianised road, full of shops and resturants, hotels and apartments behind, then a road for cars, buses and coaches and the main ";public"; buildings.
So, in the evening, as the hotel was in the middle of the resort, you either turned left or right along the pedestrianised road and shop to you drop. There is the occasional square, where there is often some form of entertainment.
The Brits seemed to represent a maximum of 5-10%, mainly Italians and Germans. The atmosphere was very friendly and we saw no bad behavior.
This road had a cycle lane that was very well used. The hotel has bikes that you can hire, free of charge; we took these out frequently and found them very good for exploring.Car Hire
Very expensive as a limited choice of suppliers, only found one car hire shop (which was closed), so hired through Thomsons - car had not been cleaned and was late, rep offered no help or apologies.
The surrounding area is very flat, so you need to travel a fair distance for interesting scenery. (If you go to towns/cities, by the time you arrive, the shops are closed and only re-open by the time you have to leave !)

"Hotel Principe Palace review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
We were really looking forward to staying at this hotel as the reviews on this site were all very positive.
Maybe we are hard to please, but we found the hotel distinctly average.
Previous reviews have raved about the food at this hotel. I can only assume that these people have the appetite of a sparrow. Choices are limited and the salad buffet is very repetitive. Wine in the restaurant is expensive.
We had a room at the front of the hotel. This was extremely noisy and we were regularly woken in the early hours by groups chatting and laughing in the square. At 5.30 am, the road cleaning starts. This is also noisy.
We were very disappointed in this hotel and in Lido as a resort. We had wanted this holiday to be special as we were married in Venice during the holiday, so this was also our honeymoon.
On a positive note, I must say that 90% of the staff were very pleasant, polite and helpful.
I would not recommend this hotel. If you want a nice hotel with great food in Lido, try the Cesare Augustus. Our mother's stayed at this hotel and it was fab.

"Hotel Principe Palace review"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Just arrived back today 24/07/05 after one week at the Principe Palace. This hotel sports itself as 4star and in some areas it is.Bedrooms are small but comfortable.Situation is great.Private spot on beach is very good.Lounge areas and bar are very well furnished and prices not too exorbitant.
What lets the hotel down are the restaurant and pool area.
Breakfast buffet is plentiful but the same every day.Dinner however really is a big disappointment. There is a time scale of 7.00pm - 8.15pm for dinner.Buffet salad bar is good if repetitive and if you do not get there quick then you are left with little choice.Buffet is not replenished very much if at all during dinner. This leads to queues forming outside the restaurant before 7.00pm not really 4 star service.Starter and main course are ordered the night before.Beware main course is very very small which is why the buffet is important.Desserts poor but fruit is plentiful.Same cutlery used for buffet, starter and main course.Table linen only changed once a day after breakfast.Waiter spilt wine one night during dinner and table cloth had not been changed when we arrived for breakfast next morning, customers have same table each day during stay.Pool is small and plenty towels are around the pool before 8.30am but the beach is great so who needs the pool.As a 3star it would be okay.Hotel is very clean.
