The staff were incredible.Nothing was too much trouble.
The hotel is in desperate need of refurbishment and the food left a lot to be desired!ASC rep was the most unhelpful and informative we have ever come across. What ever you do DO NOT book your Safari with ASC.They repeatedly tell you that you are risking everything by going with anyone other than themselves.Fortunately this was our 2nd trip to Kenya and we learnt from our first visit that the tour operators certainly know how to charge!!!
If you stay at the Flamingo resort or Paradise Beach resorts search out Eric from Hunters Coastal Tours. We had an incredible Safari seeing all the Big Five.we stayed in fabulous lodges in both Tsavo east and west.Do not be put of by the fact that Eric works from the beach desperately trying to convince tourists of his honesty.Believe you me he and his driver Ashi did everything in there power to ensure we saw every animal possible even managing to see the elusive leopard 3 times. They work purely on commision and considering we only paid 180.00 each for a 3 day Safari Eric's commision must have been minimal.
Kenya is a fabulous country. The people are extremly poor, leaving you to feel very humble but even though they barely exist a smile is always there to greet you.
We had a great holiday.Enjoy!
