We had a week all inclusive, and to be honest it was superb. The hotel is clean and the food is impressive, you will put on a few pounds for sure. There is breakfast, dinner, cakes and drinks and then evening meal. Each night is themed like french or mexican but there are also english and kenyan dishes so you won't go hungry. With our trip we had one free meal at Aladdin's cave which is the extra restaurant at the resort and it was beautiful food, we were stuffed - something like 6 courses. The rooms were tidy and the bathrooms were spotless.

We booked a 3 day safari to go to Ngutini Lodge and Finch Hattons. It cost £260 each but was well worth it. Check out their websites because the pics are amazing. Ngutini Lodge was right on a watering hole and you could see the shadows of animals at night coming to drink but in the day it was even more special because giraffes and buffalo come to visit. The rooms here and something special. Finch Hattons is a tented lodge and the lights go out at midnight so it's pitch black and you are left with just a torch to find the en suite bathroom. The tent had small lizards but they are harmless. At about 3 am, I could hear some footsteps on our balcony but was too scared to go and look what it was. You are sleeping in open bush, lions and hippos and crocs walking freely. The hippos come out to graze at night and they keep you awake with their grunts!!! The resort is Diani beach and the sands are pure white. A throroughly enjoyable time

We havejust arrived back from or holiday at the LTI Kaskazi beach hotel.
There were many good points about it, however, there was also a massive downside with it too.

I shall start with the good points

1. The food and catering staff were amazing

2. The hotel was kept very clean and tidy, even though it was slightly shabby in places.

3. Great weather

4. Booking excursiions was very easily, and staff were incredibly accomodating to our needs.

5. Most of the staff were charming and friendly and couldn't do enough to please us.

6. Food and drink was in abundance whenever you wanted it

AND THE BAD POINTS!

1. Too many Germans! Now don't get me wrong, there are some reallly polite german's etc, but 95% of those staying at the hotel were incredibly rude, pushing in front of us in the food queue, treating staff like scum! I maen a basic please or thank you never hurt anybody. They didn't lower their voices late at night or in the early hours when passing through the corridors (1am-6am) and thought nothing of shouting loudly and waking up people in other rooms. They also seem to have no control over their children either, letting them run a mock in from of fire performer, letting them dangle over balconies, stamping on butterflies, throwing food and punching staff and guests! To be fair, so English couples let their children bahave badly too, but think about this, if their child had an accident, they would blame the hotel, not their incompitance as a parent!

2. The Manager! I have never met such an unhelpful man. We had to lodge a complint as some of the hotel staff were trying to hustle money out of us. We are only in our 20's so I think staff thought we were soft touches etc.

The mananger ignored me and only listened to my boyfreind.

3. One of the Animation team gave me a sob story about his grandmother breaking her leg, asked me for money, then said he was trying to buy a waterpump for his village and wanted me to buy it for him!I said i would help him, but i needed a reciept as evidence to set up a private chrity, however he said he would prefer the money up front, hmmmm! Also a couple of days later when i asked him about this grandmother, he said he didn't have one. So there's the first of the staff trying to con us

4. We constantly were hassled 5-6 times a day in the hotel to go on trips we didn't want to do. When we said no, they asked us for our clothes or to buy carvings!

5. We came back from an excursion to find one of the cleaning staff running himself a bath in our room!

6. We couldn't go on the beach because the beach boys were constantly bugging us to buy stuff, and wouldn't take no for an answer

7. My boyfriend was mugged buy 6 people outside the hotel, one holding a knife to him, the others feeling his pockets. Luckily he kept calm and started joking with them and said he would come back with money and cigarettes and managed to break away. We were told the road was safe outside the hotel by our rep, but it obviously wasn't.

8. We never saw our rep when we needed him, and he never got back to us when we requested to meet with him.

9. We flew with My Travel. It was horrendous. Crp food, no seating space, and we are both very slim! Rude staff who make it obvious they don't want to help you. The plane was filthy too!

I would not advise anybody to go to this resort or Hotel. It is advertised as 4t by Thomson, the hotel is know where near this level. The rooms are in need of refurbisment, the air-condition units are poor, the bathroom tiles have been painted over by tile paint(instead of replacing them), the taps are often discoloured due to age and bad cleaning. Generally the rooms need modernisation urgently. The food is accepatable though a little repetative, the service is ok but not as good as it should be.

Diani Beach is ok, nothing special, the beach at this particular location is not good, and you will get hazzled by the beach hawkers. Though, despite being persitant they are not threatening. I would not advise anybody to walk on the beach along at night (or in an group) as one would get problems.

Finally there are some good resorts close by i suggest you try one of the others

We stayed here in March 2006 and can't wait to go back. Everything about the hotel and holiday was excellent, I am slighlty confused by some of the less favourable reviews I have seen. There are Colobus monkeys around the grounds and they do try and pinch your food at lunchtime but the guards have slingshots to try and discourage them although we loved to see them and watch their antics. The manager seems to work 24hrs a day as he was around first thing in the morning and could still be seen late at night. He appears to care greatly that everyone has a good holiday. Our room was lovely and very clean and the food was excellent with different themed nights. If you are a meat eater you will love the spits that roast whole buffalo etc. The beach looked a bit scruffy at first but when you look closer the grey areas are actually dead coral. Instead of booking a safari with our tour operator and paying over the odds we walked down the road to Gibran Safaris, a small shop near the bank (we were wary of buying off the guys that hang around outside as we had been warned that you get what you pay for and the accommodation is usually just outside the National Parks rather than inside). I can't recommend Gibran Safaris enough. We went on a 2 night/3 day safari to Tsavo East and West and had an awesome time. We stayed in a tented camp in the middle of the park on the first night (which freaked my husband out listening to the animal noises in the night) and stayed in a lodge on the second night. The animals were amazing and our guide, Ringo, was the best. I can't remember now how much we paid but I believe it was around £200 and worth every penny. We also booked a trip on a Dow through Gibran Safaris and this too was amazing. We noticed the Dows used by the tour operators were full of people whereas we had a Dow for the four of us as we went with 2 friends we met on holiday (they also came on the safari with us so again we had a jeep to ourselves). We were taken for an hour long snorkelling experience and were blown away by the marine life and then we were taken to an island for a wonderful lunch cooked by the few inhabitants (wonderful). We also saw dolphins which was a delight. I can't rate this trip highly enough. We have just booked with Thomas Cook to go back in October 2008 and can't wait.

Just came back from staying in the lti kaskazi hotel had a great time hotel spottless food great couldnt fault anything only the germans the hotel was full of them about 90% and they was very rude but as we only paid £409 pp for 2 weeks we didnt mind, there is a lot of germans staying in all the hotels but not as many as this one as this otel is owned by a german company,
It was very hot there the last week it was about 38 degrees so take a very high factor suncream with you the sun is very intense and you will burn if not carefull,

we booked a safarie to tsavo east with one of the beach boys outside our hotel (on the beach) his name was kasim we paid £100 pp and that was two days on safarie and that included staying at the voi lodge half board, rooms very basic but very clean and the food was quite good. the water holes had dried up but they could still get water we see lots of elephents and buffalo come at the end of the day if you do go to kenya you must do a safarie and who we booked with was very good and was a lot cheaper than our reps prices.

You will get hassled on the beach so be prepaired they do get on your nerves buti didnt realise that if you can buy one thing of the boys on the beach (they wear blue shirts ) that money will be divided between all of them i wished i had known that when i got there so please if you can buy somthing of one of them when you first get there and ask him to tell all the others to leave you alone and you wont get hassled any more remember these people are very very poor you can trade any old clothes, shoes ect for gifts you want to take home, there is also a school just accross the road from the hotel if you can take some pecils old toys anything they will be so gratefull and the children will sing for you.

we had one of the best holidays the we have ever had and would like to return there one day.
