Just back from Severin Sea had a fantastic time. The hotel staff are very helpful and welcoming. There are different restaurants to choose from
which is good if you have kids/adults with fussy eating habits. The main restaurant which we ate mostly was good had a wide range of choices, even on menu nights. The hotel has quite a few bars to choose from we spent most nights at Swing bar which had a breeze (chiilin out).I would recommend this hotel and we are going back to this hotel and do another safari.
The hotel is not far from Haller Park and Mombassa which you can get a taxi (not cost that much).
We went on the Tsavo east/west safari for 2 and 1/2 days this was great for our first safari sent lots of animals and lodges were excellent. Highly recommend it.
Our first choice rep was amazing and very helpful. Her name is Mercy

We spent the second week of our two week holiday at the Severin, after a week on safari in both Kenya and Tanzania. Needless to say, being on safari was a fantastic time, and strongly recommend that you go for as long as possible, our week was over far too quickly!!. Back at the Severin the pace was obviously more relaxed, and our fears about the hotel, after what we had read on this site before we came, were quickly overcome

After being booked into one of the rooms in the block at the back of the hotel, by the entrance, we were disappointed to find that the room had a damp smell about the place. We went straight to reception, and within 15 minutes, had been swapped to a room in one of the thatched pods, which was excellent. No trouble, and all done with a smile on the face.

To quickly summarise, the hotel is a lovely place to relax and chill out. Yes, the 'beach boys' can be a bit of a nuisance, but have a bit of banter with them, and keep walking. We did not avoid going on the beach because of them, but enjoyed the conversation we had with them. They know full well whether they are on a winner with you are not, but always like to keep trying.

The staff at the hotel are extremely helpful, and we did not encounter any rudeness at all, in fact quite the opposite. The food is prepared well, and there was always plenty of choice, and it was always hot. The restaurant staff were friendly and polite, and really enjoy conversation with you about a variety of topics.

Whilst there, I celebrated a birthday, and we were joined by friends from the Sea and Sand Hotel, who we had spent time with on safari. All of them said that they wished they had come to the Severin, as it was much more 'rustic' and homely than the Sea and Sand. We had a great night in the Japanese restaurant, which although not part of the all inclusive package, is still tremendous value.

Go to the Severin with the confidence that you are going to a hotel that is well catered to looking after you, with good food and helpful staff. If you are looking to find fault, you will find it, but there is a lot of good about this hotel, and we would have absolutely no hesitation in going back to it,, or recommending it to friends and family
