The food can be a little repetetive but eating in the same resaurant for 2 weeks always will be. There is an a la carte which costs less than a chinese take away to use so we went three times. We also used the pizza restaurant which was nice for a change and part of the AI.
The staff are brilliant and do not consantly badger for tips as in Egypt. The pool is magnificant and the beach lovely except for the beach boys following you into the sunset as you try to go on a bit of a romantic stroll.
We participated in the organised daily activities such as darts, table tennis and volleyball but you can decline without being pressurised. The fun team also go on a daily walk to local villages, schools etc. which is a real eye opener and shouldn't be missed by anybody staying at this hotel.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday and would go back tomorrow. Many thnaks to all the staff for making it that way.
Without doubt the best hotel we have ever stayed in, the location is superb , situated in a quiet bay known as turtle bay, the bay is a marine reserve so the snorkelling is superb as is the diving.

We have stayed at this hotel for the last three years in a row and are planning our next visit in 2006, kenya has so much to offer, we discover a new part of Kenya every year.
The staff and management at this hotel are second to none, there has been some big improvements this year, the new bar in the reception area is stunning, this hotel has a special place for us now, looking forward to returning again next year.
Turtle bay beach club is also fantastic for children, the ";fun base"; are here to entertain you during your stay, I must admit they do a fantastic job of keeping the children occupied during the day, in fact do not be suprised if you don't see much of your children during your holiday !
The food is superb and they will cater for anybodys needs, if there is nothing on offer that you like, then a quick word is all that is required, you will be amazed at the service on offer.
Everyone welcomes us back with open arms every year, this year was the best ever, it just keeps getting more rewarding to revisit such a beautiful place with beautiful people.
Looking forward to returning next year

I cannot fault anything about this hotel and recommend you to go

We stayed at TBBC this year for 3 weeks, we only wish it was more. We are not new to Kenya as we have visted many times before but this year we could not get good accomadation in Malindi, so we reluctantly chose tbbc in Watamu, we have lots of friends in malindi and this was the closest we could get, we always thought mailindi was great, but we were not ready for the beauty of Turtle Bay!
This hotel is without doubt the best me and my wife have stayed in ever, the rooms, the food and especially the staff are first class, add to it the location and we had paradise, also just along the beach there is ocean sports, we went there every day to see the fish being landed by the big game fisherman, I was so impressed I went fishing twice and while the marlin eluded me we caught nearly 500kg of tuna between us.
We would recomend this hotel to anyone, it is especially good if you have kids, there is so much for them to do that you,ll start to forget about them, happy in the knowledge that they are safe with the ";funbase"; annimators, we have already decided that this will be our new base in kenya for the coming years, we met so many nice people who we keep in touch with still, next year we shall become repeaters, when we where there this summer, we were one of the very few who were not repeat guests, we found this strange at first but after only 2 days my wife decided that we too will return, one couple we met were on their 20th visit! Must be something they put in the food.
Just returned having spent a month at TBBC, this place just gets better and better, some fantastic improvements have been made whilst we have been away, the new bar and seating area in reception is excellent, a great improvement, the pizza restaurant has also had a makeover which is also well done, the pizzas and pasta are top notch and the garlic bread with cheese is not to be missed.
This hotel never seems to stand still, every year we find out small things have changed which mean such a lot.
We have been so well looked after again this year it makes it really difficult to want to go anywhere else in the future, the fishing has been superb again, appologies to my long suffering wife as I do spend a lot of time out at sea!
Even tried horse riding again this year which is available at the hotel, a slow walk through an african village at 7:30am in the morning, its amazing! Everyone was so friendly and as its not part of the ";tourist trail"; you really notice the difference in attitudes from the people who rely on tourism to earn a living on and around the beach.
So much to see and so much to do, what a fantastic place Kenya is, we plan to return again next year, we feel at home in Watamu now and have really close friends in the area, its strange to keep on visiting the same hotel, year in year out but we know what we are returning to, paradise with a capital P.
If you get chance to visit Watamu and Turtle Bay Beach Club you will not regret it for sure and I'm pretty certain once you've been, you will return!

We enjoyed a great holiday to this resort in April. It was the last 2 wks of Thomsons winter brochure, so the weather although mainly very hot and sunny, was on the change and during the second week, high winds came up, swirling up the masses of seaweed that consequently littered the beach along with other bits of rubbish. However, it is still a lovely white sandy beach and we were told that earlier in the season, there is no seaweed problem. There are however, outcrops of coral which lie in the shallows of the water, so beware of tripping down potholes! The staff at the hotel were very friendly and always willing to serve. The rooms were pretty basic, but were clean and had mosquito nets around the beds.
The food was excellent, with plenty of choice and freshly cooked. You could have your eggs cooked any way while you waited. There was always plenty of fresh fruit, bread, cereals, cooked tomatoes, fried potatoes, occasionally bacon - so no complaints. Evening meals offered plenty of choice too with freshly BBQ'd meat and fish with salads and vegetables. Often Indian curries too.
The pool was lovely but needed some maintenance as there were chipped tiles on the bottom.
The kids club was great for the children who could choose whether or not to participate. Sun loungers are around the pool and on the adjoining beach, randomly set under the trees where you got excellent waiter service. Being an all inclusive, the drinks came as often as you wanted.
We did a superb trip to the snake and crocodile farm whre we watched crocs hatching from their eggs and the bird of prey centre, where we were allowed to fly the birds, ride a giant tortoise and hold a bushbaby.
We took a 2 day safari to the Masai Mara, choosing the option of a 2 hour flight. This was very enjoyable, staying in luxurious tents with 4-poster beds and a proper bathroom. I wouldn't advise a safari with a long pre-drive with children. Ours is 11yrs and this trip was perfect. We saw 4 of the big 5, had breakfast on the plains having watched a large pride of lions stroll past our jeep. Took lots of great photos and it will be a holiday to remember.
For children, it is vey safe and child friendly. The kids club look after them very well and ours didn't spend a great deal of time with us during the day, preferring to go crabbing, canoeing, play pool games or hide and seek but joined us for lunch!
The only down side to this holiday was the top and tail - the flights. Britannia airways. These aircraft are not suitable for long haul flights (9hrs) they are the proverbial sardines in a tin, with no leg room and hard, uncomfortable seats. I ended up with several very large bruises on my legs justing trying to negotiate the manoeuvre out of them to get to the loo!
But, a great holiday and very much recommended.
