Direct flight to K/L from Manchester, This is a blessing as when we went to Thailand our flight was manchester, london, bangkok, phucket.It seems that if you want to travel from a Northern airport direct you are limited, so Malasia was picked purely because of the direct flight. (also the Grand Prix was on in Malaysia which was a real plus for my husband)although we could not stay in K/L on race dates as not one high street tour operator could get us accomodation, we managed it in the end as a seperate package with page and moy.

K/L is a fantastic place, bussing.The comunication tower for an evening meal is a must the hotel will book you in.You will find a revolving reasturant at the top with a very reasonably priced buffet meal, about £17 a head.We went also to the twin towers for a view from the sky bridge, but to do this you have to be up early to collect one of the 800- 1,00 tickets that they give out daily (when they have gone they have gone)each ticket has a time on for you to return.Shopping from the malls = normal u.k price or a bit less. Shopping from China town very cheap, just watch the quality, as it happens what we bought was of a good quality but i have heard DvD's etc may not be, but saying that what do you expect for 75p.

The hotel was fantastic, entertainment in the lobby and also in the pub.Happy hour in the pub 5-8 and a great group on.Pub closes around 2pm, plenty going on outside though if yuou want.Rooms large and airy, Staff great.I will be booking a Shangri- la hotel again that's for sure.

Few words are necessary to describe this hotel, fantastic, the best hotel we have stayed for 30 years. The 5 foot chocolate fountain at breafast time being the final touch to a vast range of choices, just go there, you will be impressed.
