Got to say before commencing this report that we flew by Airtours and they where excellent!! Second visit to the Maldives, previously stayed on Paradise Island which, although fab is not a touch on Fesedu. Inital impressions on arrival - rooms seemed drab and outdated, but wow what an island!!! Fantastic snorkelling, beutiful beach, staff out of this world, nothing to much trouble, take the time to talk to the gardner he really is a nice guy!! Bar staff make outstanding cocktails, only top class ingredients used, can recomend the daquari!!!
Felt totally relaxed and even the quirky rooms won us over, with resident wild life!! Met lovley people, this is a 'no news, no shoes island.'
Only strange point to mention is the food, bizarre combinations of curry and mashed potatoes, carrots and beans, and one lunch spag bol for all!!!! But don't be put off!
Sad point to mention is that the island closes for the last time in October 04 and is being 'upgraded' going to cater for 5* luxury, very sad as most people visiting are re-visits over many years.
Sad demise for a beautiful island. If you are going before October have a fab time and take plenty of factor 25+ you will need it!!!!!

We had originally booked to go to Kuredu in Nov 03 but Becky broke her leg so had to cancel. Went to rebook and the travel advisor told us we'd love Kuredu with the entertainment 24 hours a day and Kareoke!! So we quickly changed our minds and looked for something more Robinson Crusoe.... Decided on Fesdu Island and we were so right to go there instead.
Tiny island, we walked around it in 8 minutes and we didnt walk fast.... Stayed in thatched round hut, huge inside, big beds, wardrobe and nice bathroom. Decent sized terrace with chairs and table, and your own path to the beach, about 20 foot away. Your own beach lounger/chairs to leave on your bit of beach for the duration of your holiday. Plenty of bathroom towels and hot water, and a clean beach towel every other day.
Beach and sea is out of this world. Fantastic house reef about 30 foot out in sea with ample paths through the reef to get to the other side. Lots of fish and small sharks (not scary sized ones!) although we did see a bigger fin a bit further out.... we saw eagle rays and sting rays and other people say turtles and manta rays.
The all inclusive package is very all inclusive, you dont have to spend a penny if you dont want to. Loads of drinks and a huge variety of cocktails included. Oh and all water, big and little bottles included, and fridge in room so nice and cold when you want it.
Staff very nice and helpful which is a good job as the airtours rep didnt visit the island at all. She is supposed to come two weekly or so and told me on the phone that she had been 2 weeks before but she hadnt cos the staff told us so.. I had a problem with one of my ears after snorkelling, and the rep did nothing at all. The young lad on reception arranged for us to go by Dhoni (local boat) to nearby island to meet a doctor there thankfully and I was sorted, no thanks to airtours.
This is not a complaint but the food is not great. Its not badly cooked but some odd combinations. When its buffet night you can usually find something you can eat but the set menu nights are a bit more difficult. But even so we are going again as soon as we can get the money together. It really is paradise.
