Holiday Island Reviews

Have just returned from 2 gorgeous weeks in the Maldives. We had originally booked up for Fun Island back in March 2004, but Fun island was badly damaged by the Tsunami, so having heard that nothing was wrong from Thomas Cook, 2 weeks before we were due to go away they got in touch with us to say that our accomodation had been changed to Sun Island. We did not want to go to Sun Island because it was one of the bigger one's. Eventually they agreed to let us go to Holiday Island and it could not of worked out better!

We flew from Manchester but had to call in to Gatwick to pick up more passengers because the plane was only about a third full, which put an hour on our flight time there and back. After landing at Male airport, where the service was excellent, we were taken to the other side of the island to board the seaplane.The flight was 30 minutes long but was breathtaking. From the moment we stepped off the seaplane the service was unforgetable, the people were so friendly and could not do enough for you.

The island was very quiet because of the Tsunami and people being transferred to Sun island.The island itself was just like the brochure,white sands and turqoise seas. We went all inclusive and the food was excellent and plenty of choice.They had water sports at one end of the island and the dive centre at the other and they were both well run and friendly. If anyone decides to go please say hello to doreen the dj.The bar staff were very good, as soon as you finished your drink they would be there with another.With there being very few guests some of the entertainment was cancelled on an evening but it did not spoil it.

If you just want to go out and chill for 2 weeks on a paradise island then Holiday Island is perfect.
