It is a typical no news-no shoes Maldive island.50 beach bungalows(detached) plus about 20 water bungalows(We had a beach one)- less expensive and more private with tree shade. They were refurbishing some thatched awnings while we were there, but as they moved us (on request) from the windy East side to the calmer west side we did not mind that. There was a significant difference to the 2 sides of the island . Maybe the Maldives- like most of the world- is experiencing different weather patterns -but usually Jan/Feb is a calm time(we have been to other islands). However the sun shone all the time and the snorkelling was good(when the sea was calm enough to get out on the nearby reef)
The food(we went half board) was excellent Buffet for all meals -plenty of choice -the usual Maldivian fare, plus plenty to suit Europeans -most guests were German -not many Brits, but that didn't bother us.There was one night a week with a";Disco"; band, but otherwise quiet -which suits us. Altogether if you like swimming, snorkelling, relaxing and reading -you can't go wrong.
