Having just returned from Thudufushi for the first time we are already in the process of planning for next year! There are so many plus points to this resort so I'll go through them very quickly:
1. My only word of warning has nothing to do with the resort but the Monarch Flight! Try to avoid if possible as it was the only blot of the holiday. I've flown scheduled with Monarch before with no problems, however when they operate charter flights the professionalism of the cabin crew seems to be non existent. Combine this with an 11 hour flight and sub standard in-flight entertainment altogether really isn't good enough. (We will be flying scheduled next year!)
2. The Air Taxi from Male to Thudufushi was very quick and a great way to see the islands from above.
3. The rooms were just right for the resort and the open air bathroom was excellent!
4. Although the resort was mostly Italian orientated there was never any compromise in the service received by the staff or Animation Team.
5. The island itself was just like paradise. It took no longer than 10 minutes to walk around the beach, but with only 48 bungalows it is never going to be too busy.
All in all Thudufushi does not disappoint!

We have just come back from our 2 week honeymoon on Thudufushi island, Maldives. The island was beautiful and exceptionally well kept. From before dawn and after dark, people raked and cleaned the beaches and gardens so it always looked perfect. The all -inclusive food and particularly the presentation of the food was second to none.
The weather was mostly very hot apart from a few days of very welcome heavy rain. Little extras like ice cold flannels awaiting you on arrival and fresh coconut being brought to your sun lounger makes this island very special.
The snorkelling here is fantastic and you can regularly see turtles, dolphins amongst the other coral reef fish.
A 10 day holiday would be best here as the island is very small but it is pure relaxation of the highest standard with the most genuine and good humoured bar staff.

This really is paradise, you arrive in Male and connect by seaplane, to fly to your little island. Don't be put off by this as it really is the only way to see the Maldives. On arrival you land in the sea and transfer to a Dhoni boat that takes you into the jetty. Don't worry about your luggage the staff see to all that. Arrival is a lovely cool drink and iced face cloth (you'll need it), quick check in then on to your gorgeous bungalow. Now this is the business, all inclusive includes your well stocked mini bar, which is refilled every evening.
It takes 12 minutes to walk the island, the food and drink are first class ~ no worries about dodgy tummies here ~ and in the event that you are poorly there is a GP on the island. No news and no shoes really does apply here, you haven't a clue what is happening in the world as there is no TV and no news papers.
Take lots of books and all toiletries needed as the shop is very very basic. Excellent scuba diving and snorkelling, 3 free trips included. The resort is Italian owned and the food is superb (have I said that already ~ well worth saying twice) additionally when you order your wine with dinner they bring you the full bottle, red, white or sparking Italian. Be prepared for the weight gain........book, you will not regret it.
