Qawra review
"Qawra desert. Sorry deserted"

We were not truly in Qawra, so can't comment. Our location was on the road out of Qawra heading towards Mosta.

Pretty much all of Malta is a great place to visit. The place is steeped in history and culture. Although if you are walking through the main square you get stopped and bothered by reps looking to sell you timeshare. Once you know how to deal with them they generaly leave you alone. The food is fantastic, a fusion of italian and african. Go to the theam nights in the restaurants, well worth it. A trip on the busses is an advanture in its self as they are all old fashioned. They are the best way to see the treasures that the tour guides leave out. A trip to the meridiana vineyard is worth a look at, as is the capitol veletta. Would reccomend anybody to go there for a nice relaxing holiday.

A clean resort, plenty of bars, cafes and resturants, suitable for all age groups and families, NOT a resort chosen by partying teenagers. Mainly rocky beach, safe swimming.

A lively little resort with good bars and restaurants. During the day be aware of the timeshare bandits. Just tell them you have already been to whatever hotel they are promoting and you have won a holiday.

St Georges Bay review
"Best resot on the island"
resort to a friend
The resort is made up off a small horse shoe bay with a man made beech of fine sand. There is shallow water for swimming and boating. There are lots of bars, restaurants, disco's and gentlemens clubs. Meals are huge and excellant quality. Beer prices are abit pricey because of the pound to the euro. Pubvlic transport is chaep and fun.

This is a reasonably quiet resort but you can go into Buggiba where there is more activity. I prefer peace/quiet so for me this was ideal. If you prefer more life - would not recommend this for you. You may need St Julians or something like that location. Valetta was a must to see (historical to say the least) Bus trips are a must and easy and very cheap.

Bugibba is great, we have now visited twice & know it very well, would recommend the Blue Bar in Qwara, lovely meals, and very friendly. Just watch out for the 'time share' sellers in Bugibba square, they drive you crazy!!

Mellieha Bay review
"Nice beach, but Jelly Fish"
resort to a friend
Lovely beach, couple of nice restaurants, also got hotel up above too. Life guards on beach, lots of water sports, but beware of Jelly Fish. Lots of locals use this beach, so its always busy. Bins all over the beach to put rubbish in. Water was clean and clear to swim in.

Bugibba is a nice place for a couple of days, but you'd better hire a car to explore the whole island!

As a base this is fine, close to bus routes and bus station or hire a car, which is a better idea as many of the advertised sights are interesting but not always for the length you would spend if using public transport. Driving is fun, pot holes and dirt tracks, clear divide in who is responsible for the maintenance. No parking problems in most places. Great ferry to Gozo. Malta is an interesting mix of old half ruined and new half built, neither working well, in terms of drawing the tourist. With money spent this could be a fantastic island, just some way still to go.
