Thank god we hired a car and saw something of the island, even then visiting one of the very few beaches, was the blooming timeshare hotel/apt they were trying to sell!!
The roads are horrendous, full of potholes attaining a speed of over 30 is impossible.
Arriving at near midnight and getting lost in Valletta the hotel looked inviting.
Very little to do at the hotel though and very mediocre food; as said elsewhere the locals do descend on this hotel at weekends and fill the dinning room and everywhere else.
Wouldnt stay there again if it was free; Menorca wins by a mile

We had a really good week at the Coastline, food was good, room very clean and spacious, as said before a sea view is a must. No problems with flies or smells. Definitely more suited to couples. We went on two excursions, all day to Gozo was very good, boat trip to Comino was too long, half day would have been better as it was very hot.
Very good value, a relaxing holiday.

Hi we flew with firstchoice with no problems there and back.
the coastline hotel is pleasant and clean with good size rooms(we had sea view which is a must).
As reported on other reviews we has a call from timeshare people in the hotel calling it a welcome call with a free bottle of wine, dont bother its just a scam to get you to talk to them in reception.
We did experiance flys around the pool area but it wasnt excessive and we didnt experiance any smell of such.
the pool itself is large and clean but v.cold.
The food was ok good quality and not repetetive.
the entertainment was poor for one exception johnny gee if it wasnt for him we would of gone into town every night,of which you can catch the free hotel bus every half hour from reception which takes you into the centre of town. overall the hotel and holiday were good i would consider going back to the hotel but would certainly go back to malta the people and island are wonderful.
Just like Malta you will either love or hate this hotel.

Time share touts have been given an office in reception so you will be pestered as soon as you arrive. They pretend to be part of your welcome meeting and use a ";free"; bottle of wine as an excuse to start ringing your room.
Forget what the brochure says there is no beach near this hotel and as the hotel is situated well away from any resort therefore you are restricted to the in-house ammenities for entertainment. There is however a good courtesy bus service from the hotel to the nearest resort.
This is hardly a 4 star hotel as it's local rating says but it is clean and the rooms spacious. Pay extra for a sea view and you gaze over the busy main road at the front of the hotel and endure traffic noise. Don't pay for a view and you get a woonderful ";sweat box"; at the back of the hotel and you can gaze over waste land and cats. Food choice is limited and plain and simple. Frequently some dishes ran out especially at breakfast so get to the restaurant early or be prepared to wait before the staff can be bothered to replenish.
The pool area is good and so would have the pool if it had been heated and not freezing. Evening entertainment is limited unless you like bingo and there was nothing for the teenagers who wandered miserably around the ground floor all evening.
The cleaning staff will start banging on your door early in the morning so don't expect a lie in, but surprisingly most staff are very happy and friendly.
In summary, accept this hotel for what it is (3 star in the middle of nowhere), take the all inclusive option advertised in reception, use the excellent local bus service ouside the hotel that gets you all over the island for pennies and away from the hotel, take a good book for evening entertainment unless you want to drink yourself into a good mood and plan your next holiday - somewhere else!

Hotel very elegant, very clean, and all staff very helpful and friendly.we were not impressed with the food quality in the restaurant it is a semi self service, salad and bread rolls are, other food is served up by chefs as you stand in a usually long queue, all meat is served in some sort of sauce or gravy, may as well be waiter service.Best to eat in the pizzeria food, excellent.
Timeshare in the hotel, not what you expect, rainy day so went to the presentation, went for a ride out with a nice chap called Daniel, showed us a building site (Radisson sas golden sands resort and spa)should be nice,we thanked him and took our gift of a £30 Radisson voucher to spend at the tax free shop at luqa airport, not bad for an hour of our time!
Thomson rep very good, situation of hotel a bit isolated but free mini bus into Bugibba very good, always runs on time.Nice hotel, best to go all inclusive as drinks are expensive,go for a seaview room,as our room at the back was not very scenic,do not go in a group of three as one person has to sleep on a government surplus camp bed, would not go back because of the food.
