i would recomend upgrading to a sea view room as i can understand a room looking out on to a brick wall would be very depressing and they gave us a free standing fan to use in the room which i don't think we could have survived without. if you just want a place to sleep, shower and dump your stuff in then this hotel is fine. we felt that we had got what we paid for, no point in moaning abour a 3 star hotel lacking 5 star facilities.
on the whole we had a great holiday, Malta is a fascinating place to visit and the people are friendly. Best day was spent on the Sporit of Malta cruise (operated by captain morgan) also recomend their sunset cruise ont he Fernandes, we had a wonderful time.
they seem to be improving the beach at Bugibba so the resort will be much improved when that is done as they are making a sandy area with beach access.

For the money I paid this hotel was adequate! I would say, however, that it is in the top three of the worse hotels that I have stayed in. There was nothing inherently dangerous about the hotel but for a three star hotel it was not up to the standard that I am used to. I would say that it is more like a one star.
The main problem is that this hotel is essentially DIM. The corridors are dim and the rooms are dim. Unless you pay extra the views are non-existent. The first room I was given had a view of the wall. The second room was little better as I had a 'nice' view of the water pipes, however I could see the sea from my bathroom!
The breakfasts were edible but had the worse selection I have had in hotels. It was just toast rolls, cereal, meats and cheese. If you wanted eggs or a cooked breakfast you had to pay extra.
The facilities are also very old. The games room consisted of a few video games. The bar was never open, the roof top pool and Jacuzzi were empty, the inside pool was so small you could swim from end to end in two strokes. It was also cold and unwelcoming and the furnishing looked very worn.
The bed that they gave me kept banging the wall and as I discovered the base was actually woodchip.
On the plus side the water was always hot and the room was serviced on six of the seven nights I was there. There was also a heater in the room.
The resort itself is quite quiet but that has to do with the time of year and would say that in the height of summer it would be extremely busy. There are various restaurants that offer food but beware most offer the usual fare of chips and pizza; in fact the resort has been set up for the English.
To travel round the island I used buses and they are very good value, if not a little old. I purchased a weekly ticket that cost LM6 (approx £10). Malta is a haven if you want history in bundles and I would recommend a day trip to Gozo and Comino. Go to Dingli Cliffs; the highest point on Malta.
The local food is excellent and all freshly produced. You should try Bragioli, rabbit stew and for quick but calorie-loaded snacks you must try pastzizis - very cheap and very nice.
If you are looking for a very basic hotel with no frills and with nothing going for it then stay here otherwise look elsewhere.

Hotel - room was very small 1 double bed wardrobe and draws not enough room to swing a cat to say the least. bathroom was terrible, shower was off the wall and door wouldnt close when i complained they said they would look into it and when i returned from a nice day out i found they only had changed the shower head which was worse than the one before. i hadnt dare sleep in the bed after the first night as it smelled which makes me wonder weather or not the sheets had been changed at all even though maid came each day it was only clean to an extent.
Veiw was of a wall with pipes and overlooked by at least two windows, door was just a rusty latch and when your on your own you dont feel very safe.Woke up every morning whn everyone else decided to get up and make lots of noise, i.e. doors banging closed (most people couldn't help it) and corridors were extremly loud. pools were small downstairs didnt even look big enough to swim in and upstairs was tiny and never cleaned and was salt water. reception are was nice and cool better than sitting in your room, service was ok and some of the staff were nice Rep was very helpful and friendly. Never had breakfast but heard it consisted of toast and a choice of 2 cereals most people went out for theirs.
Location - Bugibba was fine not alot to do especially for young people no good placed to have a swim and ech of the shops seemed to contain the same things and became very dull to walk around after awile hotel is just around the corner from McDonalds which is the best food i had all holiday.
people were friendly although i didnt enjoy walking through little quiet streets to get back to the hotel.
there is a big range of things to do around the island although people have raved about the Blue Lagoon i dont see what the big deal was, it was disgusting when i got off the boat i was loking forward to having a swim but the dirt you find from the tourists was overwelming, fag butts, wrppers from ice cream so much for it being clean very disappointing.
Mdina was beautiful and would have been nicer to walk around if i hadnt gone with a tour guide and all the other groups with tour guides had spolied the experience but def a great place to vist especially if you like history. Valletta is supose to be another good place to vist i heard alot of people saying how nice it was but unfortunaly never got to see it. one of the other things i got to do is to swim with the dolphins which was reasonable priced although this was an amazing experience the marine park didnt offer much even though animals seemed loved and happy all in all it wasn't the best place in the world and facilitites could have been better. probably good idea to stick with flamingo land.
All in al i would probably return to Malta but not for a couple of years as they seem to building more facillties although i would not return to Bugibba and i would go for i higher rated hotel as it would be worth the price to have a decent room to stay in as it takes the stress out of the hoilday.
If your looking for a holiday resembling Blackpool then this is the place to come. There are no beaches around here and the roof top pool is a complete death trap, how nobody has fallen 300ft through the metal make shift grid, yet baffles me.

Do not expect to get 3star accomodation or service. We booked for a weeks hol half board and the first night we arrive at 11pm we were told there was a problem with our room and transferred immediately to another hotel. The next day we arrived back we had to wait at least 2 hours before we were allowed in our room. Our room was apparently sea view. The website we looked on was complete camera trickery as you are facing all the other appartments and buliding works.
The sea is at least 300 yrds from the hotel. We were also told there would be air con, which turned out to be a make shift fan, spinning at a total of 1rpm. We didn't have a bath and the toilet seat and shower needed ripping out and starting again. The room was big enough to swing a rat and if that wasn't bad enough we wen t down for our food at night and had the choice of only two main meals in a dirty room, both were unedible! Breakfast on the other hand consisted of bread and cereal, if by any chance you wanted to actually eat properlyt you were charged for egg and bacon etc, if you could find the cheff.
We couldn't bear this longer as our holiday was ruined and got straight onto our tour rep who got us moved immediately and said that there were many other compliants from the rest of the guests.
Do Britain a favourstrip 2 stars from this joke of a hotel in a nasty resort full of kareoke bars and dodgem cars. The hotel was dirty and needed refurbishment and bringing into this century.
