The villa is a 1896 converted farm building set in attractive gardens with a good sized pool.
The villa is very spacious and well equiped with full cooker, washing machine, fridge, shower bath room (downstairs), pool side shower, full bath and shower up stairs, BBQ and garden furniture etc. Both bed rooms are upstairs (1 double, 1 twin), the double room opens onto the roof terrace.
The rep is a very nice lady (Tish), its well worth letting her come round for your welcome meeting as she has extensive knowledge of the island, is very friendly and will do all she can to help you without being in your face - she has no trips to sell, so she is very down to earth.
It is a short walk into the village Xaghra (pronounced shara), which has an attractive village square with a few restaurants, a super market, chemist, petrol station and a few souvenir shops. Xerri's Grotto and Ninu's Cave are a short walk from the villa both are caves under houses with stalactites and stalagmites, the owners of the houses will let you in for around 1 Lira each, will give you a brief history and a tour - these are both well worth a visit, Xerri's Grotto is the largest out of the two.
The village also has the Ggantija Temples which are older than stone henge (dated 3600 - 3000 BC) and the Ta' Kola Windmill. Both well worth a visit but buy a joint pass for them available from either site.
If you feel like driving across the island in the primative car the hire company provide (Kia Pride) then...
The capital, Victoria has a good market and selection of shops, the Citadel is fantastic with four museums and is a must to visit. There is a small shopping mall which has a good food supermarket in it, its next to the school and the mall is Arkadia.
The closest beach is Ramla Bay, approximately 10 minutes drive away, it is not a resort but does have a small cafe it is also the site of Calypso's cave, not much to see but historically priceless, Beach resorts well worth a visit are Xlendi and Marsalforn, Both have small sandy beaches, good for scuba diving and snorkling, Marsalforn is fairly lively at night with good restaurants, Pierre's restaurant is very friendly and well priced, the food is excellent(worth a visit).
It is worth a visit to the Azure window, Fungus rock and Inland sea, All are located on the same site and very picturesque, If you take a trip here stop off on the way and watch the glass blowers at work at the little factory shop (Gozo Glass), Very interesting to watch and great souvenir's to buy.
