you would be advised to give this hotel a miss first it is high up a cliff you have to walk up and down steep hills the hotel is dirty and they allowed cats in the dining room some of the staff were very unfriendly the manger took our iron out of our room we had to ask for it back also it was that bad the poor rep had complaints every day she moved people out of the hotel because they refused to stay
the beaches are awful there is no nightlife everything closes about 10oclock at night the only good cafe we found was the blue waters it is clean and family run they cannot do enough for you
when you travel on the buses be careful for some reason some of the people do not like anyone sitting beside them they put a towel down on their sit and if the bus is packed and you try to sit beside they they shout at you so best to leave them alone and stand

Despite my small complaints, it is a hotel that I would return to. We went with Thomas Cook, with whom we had not been before and I give them top marks for service.
Considering it was November the weather was good. Mellieha is quiet, but has many small bars that are not overpriced, even the hotels are good for drinks.
Mellieha is however not for the fainthearted, you need plenty of energy for the hills.
All in all a lovely place.

Mellieha is still unspoilt and probably one of the best resorts in Malta. Views from Hotel fantastic, unfortunately the praise ends there. The food was deplorable, vegetables wimming in water, and sometimes going brown, same breakfast every other day, cheese and biscuits on the menu but none available after the third day,a Cook with an attitude problem, he gave one the impression he would rather be any where ellse than serving up to the guests, there was not even the slightest pretence of finesse in the Catering.
Gozo a smaller Island is very attractive and has some lovely spots, however Malta is rapidly becoming one huge complex of buildings, the only open spaces are in the North West.We have been once and I'm afraid once was enough.
