We have just returned from Malta having spent 2 weeks at the Clover. We had a very large studio apartment containing everything you could need for a self catering holiday. The Clover is in an nice quiet street and is convenient for all the resorts shops bars restaurants etc. It is just one street from the front and 2 minutes from the bus station. The staff were all very nice and helpful and we made good use of the sun terrace. There is a bar and entertainment most nights. We really enjoyed our stay in the Clover and would certainly recommend it.
When I told people we were going to Malta I got some mixed reactions, but I wanted to see for myself. On the journey to the resort my first impressions were not to good but as they say (you can't judged a book by it's cover). We made good use of the local b...

The Clover was excellent. Room was clean and had everything needed including fridge, cooker, ceiling fan and bathroom with bath and shower. The staff were friendly and welcoming and always willing to help. Swimming pool area was excellent and very clean and the bar was open all day for refreshments. We were a bit worried about it beforehand having read a few bad reports but having been there now I can't understand what these people were complaining about, they must have been ultra fussy.
The resort itself was also very good. Qawra and Bugibba are basically the same place. The Clover is in a quiet area but within just a few mintes walk of all the main bars and restaurants with the areas main bus station just 2 minutes walk away with the buses being an excellent and affordable way of exploring the island.
I would have no hesitation in recommending both the Clover and the Qawra/Bugibba resort to anyone.
The room we had wasnt very nice so after the meeting with the rep we asked if we could change rooms we had to pay 30ml to upgrade but it was well worth it.If you come out of the hotel and turn left at the mini roundabout turn left again and you come into Qa...
The room we had wasnt very nice so after the meeting with the rep we asked if we could change rooms we had to pay 30ml to upgrade but it was well worth it.If you come out of the hotel and turn left at the mini roundabout turn left again and you come into Qawra with lots of shops and bars also the bus and police station are there should you need em.We recommend Carla Mays we ate there on a couple of occasions and if you like sweet wine try Vine d ore sweet reserve. Back to the roundabout turn right and your on the sea front turn left and you come into bugibba lots more shops and bars and a lovely pedestrianised square. well worth a ride in a horse and cart youll know what i mean when you see em.Valletta is a must if you go by public transport it is really cheap. We found that an excursion of round Malta then onto comino was a wasted day.
All in all we had a lovely holiday the Maltesse are lovely and hope to go back someday.ps watch out for timeshares.

We have just returned from the Clover Complex and all 7 of us had a great time. We were all a bit aprehensive about the resort as we have read reports on this site about Malta and most are quiet negative.

Firstly we had 2 rooms and both rooms were huge inside. We both had 2 bathrooms a ceilng fan and air con at no extra charge. Both rooms were also equipped with full size fridge, microwave oven, full sized oven, toaster, kettle, iron and ironing board. Both bathrooms had toilet, bath with shower and in one of the bathrooms in each room there was a hair dryer. We could not falut the cleanliness at all even the tiles and the shower curtain were spotless.
As for the resort of Buggiba which I must say is very close but it is classed as in the resort of Qawra was really nice. As you leave the apartments turn left and walk until you reach Stone Henge you will know what I mean as soon as you see it. Turn right and you will be right on the sea front. Turn left and walk along the sea front and you will come into the square of Buggiba there you will find a wide variety of resturants. We ate in George's on a number of ocassions it was really good value for money and the food was great. We read that there were loads of dog dirt and the place was filthy. We must have been somewhere else as I could not fault the resort at all. Valetta is a must and so are the old Leyland buses. Also a must is the Blue grotto boat tour. Also if you like wine try them all it is sooooo cheap.
All in all the kids had a great time and so did the big kids we would all holiday in Malta again.
