We stayed here through a local organiser for a choir group trip in Oct 2004 and enjoyed it so much we returned to explore with more free time. This hotel is excellently situated for travelling round the island, being next to the bus station. Getting on a full bus at the terminus (here or Valetta) is much easier than standing part way through and watching them go past. Breakfast was fine although they had run out of the fried pea pastries this year - only fig and cheese ones available. Coffee appalling. We didn't eat in the main restaurant (looked fairly standard)or the up market La Sybille (always seemed empty) in the evenings. Ate several lunches and a dinner in the Cafe Delos and that was good, even the coffee. Attentive, helpful waiters, etc. Would recommend the Venus and the Gilieru restaurants.
Bought a 5-day pass for LM5 each. Well worth it for convenience and multiple buses per day. For walking the Sunflower Guide was excellent.

It was Fantastic, the staff are great, the pool, bars, beach, gym, rooms, maid service, reception, location ect was all fantastic!
everything is with in reach, wether is history you are after, beaches, shopping, swimming or doing something different.
With malta you will either love it or hate it, they are a very laid back country, everything is done tomorrow- except in hotels if you have a problem its done no questions asked. We love malta that much and the new dolmen my parents bought an apartment in the complex and me and my partner have just bought a house in Buggiba and moved 3 weeks ago! Life is very relaxed and you have to have a sense of humour (and a brake pad that works!!) where buses and driving are concerned, there is no such thing as giving way at a junction if they want to go they go-thats the maltese for you!

We had an excellent holiday at the New Dolmemen Hotel. The accommodation and hotel in general was very clean. The staff were very friendly and eager to please. The children loved the choice of four outdoor swimming pools and although it was late October the temperature was c75 - 80 degrees F. Apparently the hotel will undergo a complete refurbishment over the winter months. My husband was rather disappointed with the hotel gym but was assured that it would be upgraded over the next few months.
I would strongly recommend paying extra for a sea view room as the other rooms overlook the bus depot.
You will either love or hate Malta - we met people who have been coming back every year. The buses are an experience in themselves - some 1940's models still going strong - a very cheap way to see the island. We will definately be returning.
