We have just got back from Malta staying half board at the Victoria Hotel Sliema. We would certainly reccommend both hotel and resort.

The hotel was very good, I had e-mailed ahead asking if possible for a double bed and what we got the biggest most comfortable bed I've slept on.Our room(401)seemed bigger than other rooms we have stayed in the en suite bathroom/shower was good with good water pressure from the shower head.

The view was only over the rooftops from our room, but if you could get a room on the 7th floor with an odd number it seemed to me standing on the rooftop terrace you would have a room with views over Sliema Harbour looking towards Valletta. The rooftop terrace seemed nice although it was closed while we were there, but the swimming pool is quite small. There was a jaccussi as well and it seemed to me that in the summer it would be nice on the rooftop.

The evenings entertainment consisted of just a piano player he was good, but if you want more British type entertainment you could always go down to the Preluna or Park hotel, only 5-10 min walk away. There is a nice pub (The Shaftsbury Arms) just round the corner 50yds away.run by a nice couple Dorothy and Tony.

the food at the hotel was fine nothing to rave about but nor could you knock it. It was buffet style all you could eat affair with a choice to suite most tastes put it this way you shouln't go hungry, you could if you wanted, swap the evening meal for a lunch, you could also upgrade at a small cost to an A-La-Carte, these meals did look nice when people had them.

The hotel is on a hill set back a bit from the promenade but it's a good location as you can walk into St Julians and Paceville (pron Patcheville) in under 20mins or 5mins walk to the sea front and catch a bus to both resorts and going in the opposite direction a bus to Valletta. We got a five day bus pass 4.50 maltese lira but in hindsight I should have got a 3 day one and hired a car for 2-3 days with ref to going to the Preluna or Park hotel it could be you have to be a resident, you didn't have to be one at our hotel. There seemed to be a fair few business men usually a good sign for a hotel.

WE would definatley go back to this hotel but if you want a hotel that caters greatly to British taste i.e bingo evenings it might not be for you.but I'm sure you would like the hotel
