Enjoyed a great week at the Corinthea Marina and would recommend this Hotel.
We travelled with Air Malta all flights ran to schedule, inflight meals a bit rough, and no inflight entertainment but that would not deter us from travelling with Air Malta again.
We arrived to excellent weather which continued the whole week which was very unexpected. We then had a 20 min private taxi transfer to the hotel.
Upon checking in at the Hotel we were given a welcome drink which was Malta's own drink called Kinney which is like pimms, which I thought was a nice touch.

Very impressed with the Hotel. Rooms were great, views of the bay and nicely decorated. The Hotels interior and Exterior very good. The Hotel has several restaurants one I would not recommend is HenryJs the food was awful. We had meals in all the other restaurants owned by the Hotel which we found very nice. Within the hotel they had a vinoteque bar which served great wine and a variety of cheeses. The Hotel Breakfast is excellent it has everything you can imagine from full english to other healthier options.

The Hotel runs a courtesy minibus to Sliema and Valetta which was great. There is a bus stop outside the Hotel and its very easy to get around the Island. If you wanted to go out of the Hotel to eat in the evenings its best to jump on the bus or a cab for a 10 min ride away as there are no really nice restaurants locally. Highly recommend Paparrazzi and Lorenzos Restaurants which are a 10 min ride away.

All in all the Maltese are so friendly and for a weeks break we would return.

We picked the Corinthia Marina hotel after reading the reviews here and weren't disappointed at all. The room was large and contained the biggest bed that I have ever seen in addition to a single bed for our young son. The balcony had a beautiful view of the bay and was completely secluded from all of the other balconies. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful whilst retaining the professionalism of a four star hotel

We booked bed and breakfast as I don't really like eating in hotels and we struck lucky with the two restaurants that we ate in every night as the food was excellent if you like fresh fish.

Cafe Raffael in Spinola Bay (15 min walk) was our favourite as the charcoal grilled lampuki was delightful and my wife loved the Maltese rabbit stew. Most of the tables are outside overlooking the bay. Another place that we ate at a few times was Paranga which is a restaurant next to the beach at St George's Bay and is part of the Intercontinental Hotel. A little more expensive than Raffaels but worth it for the ambience. Again we ate outside.

Malta is famous for it's bus service with hundreds of 50 year old buses in pristine condition covering the whole island at subsidised prices. We didn't try them out as we arranged to hire a car for the week when we booked the holiday. The car was delivered to the hotel and there is plenty of parking outside and it made life so much easier for visiting the more obscure places and also for popping over to Gozo on the car ferry.

We will go back to Malta again in the October 2006 half term for another week - as long as we can stay at the Corinthia Marina as not only was the accommodation first class but the position suited us as it was close to the centre of St Julians and Spinola Bay but far enough away from the nightlife as not to affect us at all

The hotel: We arrived in malta for a wedding and had brought my mother to mind the kids. We had booked 2 interconnecting rooms, one for my mother and one for us, but when we arrived we were told one room was being serviced for a leak. So for the first night we were given a suite. After that the hotel asked us as a token of their appreciation for the inconvience would we like the suite for the 2 weeks and my mother would have a room just down the hall. this was perfect as we realised that one room for four of us would have been quite cramped as we had a travel cot with us. the hotel staff was great, they could not have been friendler or more helpful. the rooms were spotless and if the baby was havng a nap durning cleaning time the housekeeping staff came back when it suited us. the hotel restaurants were hit and miss, but that does come down to personal choice.

The beach is just a minutes walk away. Its clean and i saw the lifeguards test the water regularly plus its shallow enough for young kids. the beach is man made so the sand is gritty but it doesn't stick to you like at home. restaurants are nearby and they do take aways.

there's a shopping centre nearby. lots of clubs but i felt at 27 i was a bit too old. Go to the heart of st. julians lovely food, though the service is slow esp. if your with kids. you must eat in peppinos. best food in malta and brad pitt ate their while filming troy.

Malta is not a place I would have chosen for a holiday but we have friends who live there and thought after 5 years of them asking us to go and visit we should make the effort.

The Corinthea Marina Hotel was beyond all expectations. It was immaculate and all the staff were very helpful. The entertainment is very low key in the hotel but a short walk away there are plenty of pubs and clubs.

To eat in the hotel is a bonus as the food is excellent and they have a good choice.

I do not have any negative points about this hotel and would highly recommend it for people looking for a central location and a high standard of accomodation.

Malta is a nice place, I feel it is not for children though as there is not much for them to do. But if you are looking for a relaxing holiday and places to visit its the place for you.
