Mistra Village was a very well laid out and well organised and managed premises. Very clean and spacious apartment with helpful staff and very good entertainment for the children.

The weather was very good for the majority of the time with some rain onone afternoon.
Mistra Village is very well designed but unfortunately is being demolished at the end of this season,no doubt to make way for high rise development.

This is very sad as we had one of the best family holidays and would have considered a return.
Facilities such as the pools and organised water games were great fun.Outdoor tennis, Indoor pool, and gym were available and well equipped, but we never took up the chance due to the good weather.
Food was OK, avoid the pizza resturant, but try the outdoor resturant for lunch.
The resort is quite and a bit out of it although there is about ten local resturants including a chinese and Indian.
Recommend Carlo's Hideaway and Sammy's Bar.

The drinks are more expensive in Mistra and it is worth getting to Buggiba where there is much more night life. It is about 40 minutes walk. The bus ride is cheap but the taxi's are expensive for the journey back
Try the Grand Harbour Cruise and round the island cruise, but not through the reps, haggle on the harbour front, Midna and the Blue Lagoon.

Avoid all time share touts in Slima or Valletta, and the Popeye Village.
Never got to Gozo which should be visited.
The people I found very friendly and Mistra attracted the locals at weekends.
Even when busy there was more than enough sun beds, parasols and towels were provided all free of charge.
It is an ideal place and I recommend it although I am sure other places are cheaper, I was advised that in Malta you only get what you pay for.

I would try to book direct as there are offers available through the hotel group.

These apartments are the best we have found in Malta, although unfortunately they are in Xemxija, which is not a resort, just a road with a couple of restaurants. However, if you are prepared to hire a car or use the buses, then this is the place for you. The apartments are very clean and modern. There are two rings to cook on (No grill or oven), and a full-size fridge. There is a good range of clean equipment for the kitchen, also ironing board and iron, kettle, , microwave, toaster and (in the bedroom) a hairdryer. Each apartment has a little TV with one or two English channels. Our apartment had a lovely view of one of the pools and a large balcony, although unfortunately the weather wasn't good enough to use it.

We had a one-bedroom apartment which was very spacious. The bedroom was huge and could well accommodate a cot if necessary. Our daughter slept on the sofa in the lounge area, which was very clean.

The hotel has very good facilities. There is a well-stocked and reasonably-priced mini-market, a souvenir shop, a couple of restaurants (food in main restaurant ok but nothing to write home about), a laundry, two lovely pools (one with excellent children's facilities), a Kids Club (hotel run, not bad but not great either), and entertainment in the evening. It is very well run and beautifully landscaped. All the staff are very friendly and made us feel very welcome.

We booked direct and saved about £100 on the Airtours price.

This property is expensive compared to many others in Malta but if you don't mind the location it is definitely worth paying the extra.
