The location was excellent only a short walk to the shops and square, bus stops everywhere, very cheap travel.
The hotel is basic but clean, food not great but being a small hotel you can only have so much choice, the only complaint i have got which is not the hotels fault was the very loud music from the hotel next door so if you like going to bed early forget it.
The pool on the roof is okay if you want to fry as they have only got so many parasols, so we never used it but we found the golden bay beach was briliant only a short ride away on the bus, all the other beachs had sun beds close together, this hotel is very basic but the staff are lovely and couldn,t do enough for you,

We chose this hotel as it was all inclusive. We never went all inclusive before.

The hotel certainly did not rate as a four star hotel, I would feel that two stars is more appropriate. Certainly there is nothing at all for children to do. the pool is at the very top floor of the hotel. the lift goes to the fourth floor, which meant we had to lift the child's pram up another three flights of steps to get to the pool. the bar in the hotel is closed during the day, therefore you had to go up to the pool to get a drink! the games rooms is available, however nothing in it is working.

During the evening the entertainment is virtually non existent. Twice during the week that there was singing! On one of the nights you could hardly call it singing, it was painful.

Now the restaurant is another story on its own. Children are offered chicken nuggets, Pizza or sausages for lunch and dinner everyday! Disgusting to say the least. after much negiotation with our rep, and hotel staff, we got sandwiches at lunch time. in saying that even though the food was very poor every day, the staff are very friendly, especially the housekeeping staff who work extremely hard. The rooms were alright, unfortunately though our toliet seemeed to be leaking and we had a terrible smell of sewerage all the time.

St Paul's bay is a beautiful area, we went on an underwater cruise, booked through Captain Morgan, who is in the town itself. It was very enjoyable, and quite reasonable. Shopping is also not a problem, and the shops in the local area provide as good a selection as Valetta, nearby.

Overall i would definetely recommend malta, not the Crown Hotel, Which is a pity as the staff work hard, they need to get their act together and provide much better food and entertainment for tourists who work hard in order to holiday in their country. I would like to also add that the rep from Panorama, was excellent and couldn't have been more helpful, he even came in on his day off to sort out problems.
