after a long day we thought we had made a big mistake when we first walked in the doors of this hotel we had too rush for diner as it was closing and we really did not want to be there .But after the first night it began to feel not that bad, beds and towels were clean and bathroom was tidy , walking down to the dinning room corridores were in need of a lick of paint and new carpets but that was not a big deal.Staff in the dinning room were frendly but do clean the tables very fast . pool area in need of some work the pool would not be suitale for small children as it is deep.There are plenty of shops and pubs around with good food and cheap drinks. so what we thought was going to be a bad holiday ended up be a very good one met some nice people there , we probly would go there again. this hotel and area would be good for anyone traveling alone as the bars and eating places are not far away

Just returned from 2 weeks at the San Pawl Hotel and felt we should make our opinion known to other future guests.This hotel very much caters for the local Maltese who take priority over PAYING guests. They have full use of pool area and take over at the evening entertainment. Room was a good size with excellent fan and air conditioning(superior room)cleaned daily and the cleaner was the only member of staff who spoke to us(a gem).If you are looking for a small, FRIENDLY hotel then don't go here.Around the Hotel was the usual cafe bars with live music and karaoke.A special mention to Diones Bar( good Scottish hospitality)

On arrival we had to wait an hour because our room was not cleaned. The hotel is need of decorating, The entertainment was quite good except for the locals taking over, and also they take all the sun beds up at the weekends. Oh and by the way there are cats everywhere even on the tables and on the sun loungers and in the pizzarie.In the restaurante your dishes are taken away from you before you have finished.

Sorry we wont be going back to this hotel again.

After having read online about the san pawl we were a bit wary about our stay but we were very pleasantly surprised. The food was good ther was soup or pasta to start then three main dishes usually a fish in that a good salad bar chips potatoes veg if that wasnt to your like you could have a fresh ommollet the puddings were a bit bland but you could always ask for ice cream to then some plain cheese and biscuits.
The staff were always good but always check your change.
While we were there a lady had a bad fall and the manegment were so good to her and her friend couldnt do enough.
If you are looking for the cheap cigs the are roughly about 14 lire about £23 50 and the little shop in the street oosite is as reasonable as anywhere if you want to hire a car ask the manager he will rcomend ray at 10 lire a day £ about £18 50 no claims or 8 lire without the pool is very deep both in and out not good for non swimers and the baby pool is not safe for little todlers all in all we were pleased with our stay in malta and as we were there for the easter celebrations we enjoyed it all

just arrived home from a week in this hotel in Malta. After reading other reviews we were a bit worried about going.However the hotel was very good.Rooms were adequate and cleaners came in daily. All staff were very friendly and courteous at all times. Food was of very good quality although you only have a choice of three dishes, but there was always something different every night. The only off putting thing was the hill up to the hotel from the main area. Kept us fit though.

I would definately go back to Malta again .
