Did not really need to venture out of the hotel but when did we found we had the same enjoyable experience as we did in our complex. Of the excursions we did do, we found:

Coco Bongos bar crawl very good value for money. Was a very entertaining and enjoyable experience. Chitchen Itzen was a great day out and very informative. Captain Hook Lobster dinner cruise was also entertaining and good value for money.

With the sun shining on average between 240 and 253 days per year, Cancun is a year-round holiday destination, although certain times of year may be more favorable than others. High season for travel falls between December and April. During these months the weather tends to be sunny, with temperatures hovering around 85ºF (30ºC) during the day and rarely dipping far below 65ºF (18ºC) at night. While this time of year offers the most pleasant weather, it is also most popular with tourists, which drives prices up, especially during the Christmas holiday season between mid-December and the beginning of January. Travelers planning trips near Christmas or Easter and Spring Break should be advised to plan well in advance and book their accommodations early.

Lively or quiet, whatever you want it to be. I'm over 50 and went with my 22year old daughter - she wanted fun, I wanted to relax - we managed to do both and we both thoroughly enjoyed it and plan to go back next year.

excellent holiday!! I would definately go back to this resort, the bleaches where clean, weather was beautiful an the service was excellent, a perfect holiday!

plenty of shops and bars and coco bongo. very good beach. Weather was stormy for the first 4 days but it didnt stop us enjoying the resort

Certainly a beautiful beach, plenty going on if you want to relax, swim or try some water sports, I really enjoyed going on the Jet-skis and this holiday was a superb treat for all and yes I would definately recomend and hope that one day to go back and enjoy again.

There is plenty on offer in Riviera Maya to suit everyone from couples to families from the designer shops in Cancun to the small boutiques and craft shops in Playa Del Carmen.

Resort was limited to the hotel but Cancun Paya del Carmen are close. Chichen Itza is a must see. Booked before we left the UK and saved mony, had the bus to ourselves and we went to a quieter ruin at Ek Balem. Tulum is also worth a visit.

This hotel is on the end of the hotel zone , but the bus service to the centre is great. For 8 pesos you can go from one to another , the bus runs every 2 mins and stops outside the hotel

Ideally situated to explore the culture & countryside of this beautiful part of Mexico.Within walking distance of the lively seaside town of Playa Del Carmen-full of souvenir shops,bars & restaurants.One of the best beaches you will ever step on & never overcrowded.Beware of leaving things on the beach as a few towels went missing from our sunbeds.The whole feel of the resort was good as soon as we all arrived & there are plenty of facilities that stretch from the beach to the slightly quieter Riviera part of the resort.

There is enough going on in the resort to keep you occupied, but shopping in Cancun is not too far away.

Good resort with plenty of shops and bars. The sea was a bit rough for my liking but the beach was fantastic. Especially enjoyed the free tequila shots in some of the shops, made shopping really enjoyable. Lots of restaurants to eat at, just great for passing the afternoon away.

Benidorm in the making,18-30's holidays,lots of loud music and drunk people,i was even asked if i wanted to buy some charlie (cocaine) and that was in one of the markets.

we wanted to escape to a quiet haven and this is just what we found. The beaches are in one word breathtaking and we could quite happily have spent all of our time on them. One recommendation is go and explore on your own if you feel comfortable doing so and find the back street bars and restaurants the locals are very friendly especially if they know they will be making some mula out of you!! Lots of watersports availiable at the beaches and there are some really good value for money trips availeble. we felt very safe there and will definately be visiting again.

The Riviera Maya is full of all inclusive resorts offering a complete food and entertainment package. The beaches can be rocky in places and the tide is quite strong so not always suitable for kayaking and snorkelling. Excellant snorkelling is available off the coast further down the Riviera Maya coastline. There is plenty of cultural and water based trips to go on although these are very expensive for the British tourist.
