We has a lovely time at this Hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful and looked after us well.
The rooms were pretty standard, clean and well maintained. Ours (1427) had a nice view overlooking the pool and sea.

We has a lovely time at this Hotel, the staff were very friendly and helpful and looked after us well.
The rooms were pretty standard, clean and well maintained. Ours (1427) had a nice view overlooking the pool and sea.
The food was very good, everything you could think of for breakfast,the buffet restaurant offering fresh appetising food. Steaks, salmon, prawns, all freshly cooked so they did'nt dry out. Big salad selection with crab, avacado, smoked salmon etc. Tasty soups and breads. Lots of fresh fruit (lovely strawberries)and pastries. We found the a la carte restaurants dissapointing, the food although good quality and nicely presented was always cold - whichever of the 3 you used.
No problem with the drinks, there were all brands, just name your choice.
What little we saw of the entertainment looked to be quite professional, good costumes, well choreographed although it could be a little loud if you were trying to have a conversation in the bar next to the theatre. The hotel animation team worked hard with the usual activities and there was some fun with them dressing up as Batman or the Devil or Micheal Jackson and running along the beach with a bottle of Flavoured Tequila for you to try.
The beach was great, a broad expanse of nice soft sand. The only disappointment was the weather, going in January (1-15) it was quite cloudy, which did'nt burn off till 10 ish and it rained some. The sea was too rough to swim or snorkell.
Had a taxi to Playa del Carmen ($5) plenty of shops, bars restaurants, quite pleasant. Playacar is within walking distance 5 mins, a dozen shops selling pretty much the same as P.D.C.
We enjoyed the holiday and would love to go back.
