traveled with monarch every thing was too much trouble . even the in flight films you needed to RENT THE EARPHONES on previous long haul flights these were either free or at a reasonable cost to buy .the meal out was unrecognisable by myself or even the in flight staff who turned to some script for the answer. NEVER again cosmos drop monarch or lose customers.RANT over. Arrived lupita midday wednesday reception staff helpfull and very professional. led to room by entertainment staff (nothing was to much trouble) room imaculate. have stayed at playacar with riu previously so knew what to expect. you have free use of the playacar/tequila/yucatan but you must have your evening meal at the lupita. there is a free bus service to the lupita beach beside the riu palace but its 2 mins walk to the other hotels. lupita has two pools and a excellent bar there is good entertainment through out the day and the evening entertainment was fair ( not quite the standard at the other hotels, you could get a taxi ride and enjoy a better evening show) some nights the show was first class but there are some mr & mrs shows. the free bus serice that runs each 30 mins will also take and drop off you to playa del carman shops. off all the riu hotels this is the cheaper option there are more mexicans here than you will find at the other hotels but don't be put off. we had a sensational two weeks and if you get bored of the lupita you can allways use another riu hotel. the only down side that we could see was that you havn't a beach on site, you back on to a golf course and there is a mosquio presence not noticed at the other hotels. and finally if you enjoy a short stroll after evening meal around local shops there is little here. so what you waiting for book now and have a spectacular holiday so much to see and do.

We've just arrived back from Mexico, we had booked last minute and had'nt been able to find any reviews on this site so we were a bit aprehensive that's why i decided to add my review.

this was the first time we had been to Mexico or in fact all inclusive, we have been to Spain, Turkey, greece, italy and Majorca but never all inclusive. we found this place FANTASTIC! the food was excellent the people friendly and the weather was as you would expect marvelous. a couple of useful tips if you are going, on arrival in Cancun head for your holiday rep with the board that has the company name as you will find people approaching you claiming to be thomson or first choice etc, these are timeshare leeches so be warned!

Thomson offer a night in Cancun All inclusive for $93 (around £50) if you see one of the animation team they run the same trip for $40. the shops are very expensive but if you stay around yor resort it won't cost you a thing. the drinks are brand names like smirnoff etc your room has a fridge with bottled beer, pepsi, 7 up and water theres also 4 optics, nice for a night cap. the rooms are cleaned daily and the maids leave you a little present each day shaping your towels into swans butterflies etc.

All in all a lovely place and wouldn't hesitate to go again
