"great holiday"
Overall Hotel Rating:
This was one of the best holidays we have had, loved sensatori mexico. mexican people are lovely, staff in hotel couldn't do enough for you. Staff were constantly cleaning hotel and rooms where cleaned and re-stocked at least twice a day.pools were lovely and never full, always beds avaliable. beach was as clean as possible, unfortunately the sea breeze brings in lots of seaweed but there is a breach tractor that cleans it up as often as needed so it wasn't a problem. the food was great, lots of choice, something for everyones taste. room service was included so you can get pizza delivered to your bed if you are still hungry and fancy a late night snack. The shop was our only complaint it is soooo expensive, paracetamol and crisps cost about £20!!! we would definately go back to this hotel if when we go back to mexico. dont be put of by what other people say, it really is a lovely place.

"fantastic and amazing holiday!"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The Sensatori Mexico was a fabulous hotel! We could not fault anything, we stayed there 4 months after opening. The food in all restaurants was beatiful, day time and evening. The room was outstanding and the service was faultless. Cleanliness throughout the site was 5* and I would go back there tomorrow if I could! As there was only computerised images available before we went we where nervous upon arrival, however we where extremely pleased with our holiday! Amazing!

"In search of sunshine"
Overall Hotel Rating:
i wanted to think carefully b4 writingthis review as i found some of the reviews abit worrying b4 i went away. Transfer from the airport was swift and efficient and we were greeted at the hotel and booked in swiftly - even tho our room was not ready for us we were able to find the mojito bar to amuse ourselves while waiting. The hotel was extremely clean and spacious - as was our room with its impressive size bathroom and bed! This was our first break without the children although we werent particularly looking for a 'romantic' location and selected this hotel for its 'adult only' section and pool and should families try this area security will move them on. This being said some of the canadians were noisier than around the childrens pool! However i cannot stress enough how beautiful the location, beach and hotel is - having got up early (to reserve our sunbeds) i did catch the sunrise and was almost moved to tears at how stunning it was. Altho the hotel was a 98% capacity it was still extremely quiet and restful during the day. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and always smiling. The 6 restaurants were always accessible and we only once had to wait for a table but were given a buzzer so we could go to the bar while waiting - which wasnt a problem as we were on holiday and not in a particular hurry! Having been our first 'all inclusive' experience i def feel it was good value. Its true that this is probably not a 5 star hotel - but i cant quite think why - and i would recommend it to some of my friends. We shared a taxi to Playa del Carmen with a couple we met out there and would recommend this too - take lotsa cash - there are lotsa lovely shops and bars but best of all is the beach. If you are in your late 40s like us dont bother with Cancun - my son would have loved it altho i probably wouldnt want him to go! I certainly didnt want to leave and now back home in the rain and wind would love to be back lying on a cabana with a pina colada in my hand! If you have booked this resort rest assured i would definitely recommend this hotel.

"not romantic"
Overall Hotel Rating:
Booked our holiday after seeing the advert on the T.V. believing that the hotel was aimed at Romantic couples. We have stayed at excellence and secrets hotels and expected the same standard of holiday at the Sensatori.Arriving at the hotel we were booked in promptly and taken to our suite, the grounds were well kept and the layout of the hotel looked great. Our suite was large with a 4 poster bed , hot tub but the decor was a bit drab and the furniture was a bit dated.Wonderful sea view. The hotel boasts gourmet food, I would have to dispute this claim, there are six restaurants the buffet one (spoon) the food was bland with little variety from day to day, the Italian (Sienna) offered no pasta dishes for your main meal, with nowhere to have a drink whilst you waited for a table, the Mexican (Zocalo) offered basic Mexican dishes, we did not try the Caribbean or the Tapas ones. The jewel in the crown is the Le Chic restaurant you needed to pre book this one.We saw the concierge on our second day to book it, and was told unfortunately it was fully booked up for the entire week. She then went on to tell us we could have a table if we paid 95 Dollars each, an offer we declined. other extras were Wireless Internet 70 dollars per week, use of gym, sauna and steam room 45 dollars each per day, a bit over excessive for a all inclusive hotel. We went to this holiday expecting a romantic break only to find the hotel was over run with kids. The hotel is trying to cater for two categories of holiday maker Families and couples but this concept didn't work for us, we paid a lot of money and didn't get what we paid for.The hotel needs a lot of updating, and I would only give this hotel a three star rating and not Five stars has Thomson claims. One plus point were the staff who couldn't do enough for you. The beach was full of sea weed and their was large stones to get over to gain access. Until the hotel decides on who its clients should be I won't be going back

"Sensatori"
Overall Hotel Rating:
The hotel itself is actually very nice. Very nicely set out and tastefully decorated. The only shop in the hotel is unbelievably overpriced (£6.00 for one big bag of crisps!) so try not to buy anything from there if you can help it. The restauarants have the same menus for the day time and evening so you never get alot of choice of what to eat and the food is only ever luke warm. Not impressed at all for a 5* hotel. I was there for a two week holiday and in that time never saw any fresh fish to eat which was very disappointing. The beach is awful, nothing like the brochure of the website page. It is full of rocks so is very difficult to swim in and it is covered in seaweed. But they do have a tractor that drives up and down all day turning the sand over to make it look better (a nice touch if youre looking for a relaxing beach holiday!!!!!)

"Sensatori- Mexico"
Overall Hotel Rating:
As you arrive at Sensatori, you are met by numerous members of staff, some taking care of your luggage whulst the others offer you champagne and warm flannels, for you to refresh yourself at the end of the long journey. The reception, is very chique and minimal, much like the rest of the hotel, the designers have paid every attention to detail.
The rooms are extremely spacious, very light and airy and again very stylish. As you walk into your room there is a large batroom area with a double shower, his and her sinks and toilet. The next thing you notice is the enormous queen sized four poster bed, the large plasma television and the luxurious hot tub jacuzzi bath that looks out over the pool area and the beach. The hotel provides everything you could possibly need, two large dressing gowns, golfing umberellas, irons and ironing boards, you name it the hote,l has it and if it hasn't, the concierge will do their upmost to get it for you. There is only one word to describe Sensatori - PARADISE!
The restauants are all extremely nice, our favourites were Sienne (the Italian) and Zavaz (the Caribbean), the food is excellent and again they have paid every attention to detail, both the presentation and food is outstanding. The meals however are not very big but if you order more than one course you soon become full, do not be afraid to ask for side orders, such as chips, even though they arent on the menu, the chefs will cook some. The same goes for the Italian, the pizza's are delicious but the ingredients on the menu weren't to our liking, if you explain and ask for ham and mushroom, even though its not on the menu, they will cook one for you. Also the Tapaz restaurant, we dont like fish, there are 5 courses at this restaurant, the menus change every night, make sure you ask what is on the menu before you are seated, one of the courses for us was some sort of fish and instead they cooked us a different dish. Now, Le Chique, the decor is amazing it is a very pretty place and it is very trendy, however, we didnt like the food. This is not to say that the food was horrible, it waasnt, although it wasnt to our taste, as you arrive you are taken to the kitchens to have a look arlound and you are given a melon cocktail, which was very nice. Then you are seated the next course was mini tapaz, the bursting olive, the mini kebab and the carrot and coconut foam, which were again all very nice. However, the rest of the menu revolved around fish, apart from the french onion soup and the three variations of rice pudding and so we didnt eat them, we tried them but didnt lilke them. I would definitely reccommend that you try Le Chique althoug i would book early and be prepared to go to spoon later to enjoy something much more to your liking. Gentlemen must also wear long trousers and shoes at Le Chique.
As for the pools, they are all excellent, if you wish to sunbathe on the beds you must get up before 8am and put your towels out to have a chance of finding one available, there are however plenty of normal sunloungers available, so dont worry. Just dont make the mistake of sunbathing in the premium section, you will notice a change to the sunloungers and they will have extra towels, there is an extra charge of around $20 a day for these and it isnt really worth it. There is waiter service around the pools anyway the only difference in the premium section was that they were provided with snacks around the pool as well as an extra towel and a matress on their sunlounger. Do not be afraid to ask for cocktails that arent on the menu, a Mudslide is an absoulte must, extremely fattening but well worth it! Also try, riviera maya and miami vice! Delicious!
A taxi to Cancun or Playa del Carmen will cost you around $40 each way, very expensive, we did both but would reccommend Playa del Carmen out of the two. The hotel also provides transport through a shopping trip to both places, much cheaper but, only run on certain days at certain times and involves you lookuing around a jewellery shop first, you do not have to buy at the jewellery store, you just have to look around it and are limited to the amount of time you have to look around.
Trips- DO NOT book through your tour opperator, they charge double the amount of the hotel, as you enter reception there is a desk to the left hand side, they have all the inforation on trips, offer much more for your money and offer much more choice, you can also book from the towel stands by the pool and offer the trips at a much cheaper price! Check out the Fat Cat trip, great value for money and a great day at sea!
Hope this review is helpful, we will definitely be returning, my parents fly out in September and they cant wait, we would definitely reccommend Sensatori- Excellent!!!
