We have just got back from our first ever visit to Morocco and having used this site before were surprised that Flat Hotel was not mentioned, but it sounded good on lastminutes website so I booked it-Bandb for 2 for one week at £540 seemed OK.Good flight on time and quick through passport control and very quick transfer to hotel.Flat hotel apartments are pretty huge!I would say around 20ftx30ft with a really good sized balcony-all overlooking the pool area which is very nice and kept immaculately clean each day.Rooms are cleaned every day with fresh towels provided by friendly maid (Kelchoom?)The only tidying I had to do on arrival was clear every surface in the place of Petals placed there by the maid-nice thought(!)The kitchen area is big and well laid out with two rings and an oven with fan and timer!Very big fridge freezer. The bed was comfy with plenty of extra pillows available.Plenty of storage space but a bit tight on hanging space in the wardrobe-safe also provided at a small cost.Living area big and comfy and TV has Euronews and a film channel in english.Air con is very modern with timers and different modes-dry,cool,heat and fan-if you can work it out!Bathroom has huge shower area so curtain can,t stick to you and very powerful adjustable flow with loads of hot water.Decor is fairly fresh smart and modern.

Only downside really to this hotel was breakfast, which took forever for them to serve-and there realy didn't seem to be many other people there! And it was only bread, butter, marmalade croissants and cheesey triangles(nice!!)and tea or coffee. How long can that take to put together? So we gave brekkers a miss after the first couple of days and went off to the beach and had brunch at one of the restaurants there.

BEACH is fantastic! Miles of golden sand that we found very clean-no seaweed even!
Bring a sturdy swimsuit though ladies! The sea can be quite rough with some great atlantic rollers coming in when the breeze-which is pretty constant-whips up to a stiff wind!Great fun though when it is like this-there are life guards on duty on the main part of the beach. One very good tip-go to a private beach area-the one called Palm beach is closed at the moment due to a new promenade being built, but there is one at LE NIL BLEU which is also a restaurant.£2.50 for all day,2 beds and a parasol-not bad!
If you don't use a private area the Beach Sellers will do your head in!!There are good restaurants here too, including Kamel and Le Vendome.

Other restaurants we found were good as before mentioned on this site are La Scala,Petit Dome and Le Jardin D'eau.Fillet steaks are as good as any I have eaten at home.
Downside for serious drinkers is the price of alcoholic drinks-we found L'Orange Bleu to be good value for a few drinks after dinner-spirit(double)and a mixer for just under £2.There were a couple of other happy hour bars just up from Fourquets restaurant on the opposite side of the road.Taco Loco mexican seems to have closed down.
Take a petite taxi to Marjanes supermarket to stock up on just about everything-place is huge!
Also visit pharmacy here or in the town for prescription drugs-your usual anti-biotics/anti-inflammatories you have to tussle with your GP to get back home.

Taxis!! Never mind bartering with them over a fare-it's not worth the hassle-as others have said before me-just insist they use the METER! If they protest, just tell them you want to get out-that usually sorts it!By the way-they think we British are a soft touch re bartering-we meekly pay up apparently!

WATER-Dont use it to brush your teeth with-stick to bottled.

SUN is very strong and wind can make it seem deceptively cooler-take factor 15 or higher.I got over-excited the first day as I haven't been away for nearly two years due to house renovation, didnt use anything much in way of protection and burnt my lower legs and felt very silly on the beach the next two days knowing everyone was looking at me and thinking I was very silly!

Good Tip-take some Acidophilus tablets with you-they help maintain healthy gut bacteria.Get them from health food shop.Or try and get something like Activia yoghurts at Marjanes. The heat and the food and the (possible?!)lapses in hygiene(occasionally!?)will be prone to upset your tum.I never get upsets but think the heat did it for me-my own fault for not staying in shade more.

We would go again-easy 3-3 1/2 hour flight to the sun.But a week was enough for a chill-out holiday.Hotel would be a definate Yes!
