if you whant a relaxing holiday this hotel is spot on.
we travelled on the 8 october, the hotel transfer was only 30 minutes journey but be warned when you leave the passport check and get your cases at the airport, porters suddenly decend from nowere and start putting your bags on there trollys to take to the waiting busses outside, not realising how far they were we let them take them ,but the buses are literrily just outside the doors, and they expect a tip, welcome to morroco, get used to tipping and paying for anything and everything.now our thoughts on the hotel, what a lovely clean hotel this is, everywhere was spotlessly clean, we were shown to our rooms which were quite large and again spotlessly clean with airconditioning on the lower floors so we had a patio and grassed area right next to the childrens playground area, couldnt have been better, the maids who cleaned our rooms did an exellent job each day even leaving fancy patteerns on the beds with the sheets and placeing rose pettles around the sink area in the bathroom. the swiming pools were massive with a small seperate childrens pool for the infants, you cant leave towells on sunbeds before 8am but after this time you can reserve as many is needed,we put our towells out at about 9.30 after breakfast and there was never a problem finding 6 together,
you can hire beach towells from the hotel at 100 dhrms each this is refundable at the end of the holliday and you can change your towells every day or as often as you whant for fresh clean ones.the hotel has a private section of beach with security so you dont get any hassle from the lucky lucky men however a firm no and they will leave you alone, the beach is very clean and the public beach also has police riding up and down on horses or quads just keeping an eye on the sellers,
the food in the hotel was excellent, from chefs making pizzas all the time, another doing pasta dishes, another doing omlettes good old chips and then a massive choice of other cooked foods as well as the bbq outside on the balcony cooking things like shark, swordfish, tuna and octopuss all freshly caught and on display, the deserts were plentyfull with cream cakes, gateues, biscuites, fruit and icecreams.the food on a lunch time outside was just as good as in the restaraunt, plenty of choice from salads, pizzas, chips, and various hot dishes, icecream and fruit.the animation team were fantastic always on the go all day and night keeping the children occupied in the kids club and looking after everyone else getting you involved in games througout the day in and around the pool.the shows on a night were also very good and made a fitting end to a perfect day.overall this hotel and staff cant do enough for you thus giving you a perfect relaxing holliday, even with 4 kids.
outside the hotel is another matter, as soon as you step foot on the path you get the taxi drivers all asking if they can take you here there and everywere,if you decide to get in one be specific in were you whant to go and agree a price before you set of, they will try taking you everywere else but were you wanted to go and also rip you off if you didnt agree a price, if you get the grand taxi a fare of around 40 dhrmsfor anywere around the town even up the mountain is about right, and in the petit taxis no more than 20 dhrms should be paid, if they ask for more stand firm and even walk away saying no,you can also ask them to put the meter on, but they dont like that because there on a good thing getting the above fares.once past these taxi drivers you reach the shops, be prepared they call you in and once in you cant get out for them trying to sell you zsomething, they will start of at an unbeleivable price and then give you a calculater to tell them a price, an example was what happend to us,we asked how much a fez hat was the shop owner started at 250 dhrms (16 to the pound )i got him down to 70 dhrms after about what seemed to be hrs of hagling and finaly walked out with the fez only to find a fixed price shop were you dont haggle as everything is marked prices and fezs were only 15 dhrms each, the shop keepers will rob you blind a good rule is to knock them down to at least a quarter of there asking prices and then go less if you can be bothered, the best shops to go in are the ones what say fixed price above the doors.
moroco still has a long way to go for tourists but if you whant a relaxing holliday with enough things to keep the kids happy all day then this hotell is just the job,1st class service and amenaties.also the weather the full two weeks was always in the 80s very nice.
Having read the other reports first, rest assure this is a lovely clean hotel with friendly staff (hi frankie!)for whom nothing was too much trouble. Lots of different foods to choose from, if you cant find something to eat you must be really fussy. ...

One of the best hotels we have stayed in (just a shame we only went for one week not two!) Make sure you go and have tea and a biscuit with the mint tea man - you'll find him in the foyer. Lots to do around the pool during the day, every age group is catered for. Only downside was that the evening entertainment was targeted more towards the french holiday makers, but still very enjoyable, well worth watching. If you get the chance - make sure you go on the berber night, great food and entertainment.
Overall, a fantastic holiday - we will definately go back.

After reading previous reviews, we were rather apprehensive about this holiday. But how wrong can you be !! This has proved to be an excellent choice for a family holiday.
From the travel arrangements with Thomas Cook - the hotel bedrooms were huge and well furnished and with quiet nights !! The food was brilliant, so much choice and lots of wonderful tagines to try, a vast array of desserts, and even chips and pasta dishes for the fussy eaters. The weather was around 24 - 29 degrees. The entertainment was varied and enjoyable. Teenagers are well catered for with organised camel rides from the hotel, tennis, water polo, volley ball, dart and pool competitions. The yoga and aerobic classes were excellent. You cannot fail to enjoy your holiday here !!Marrakech is a must - although the 4 hour coach trip ( with a stop after 2 hours) is long, the scenery and ";life"; outside Agadir was fascinating. The sea, although too rough to swim in, is great fun for older children, and much enjoyment was had from the huge waves!! The beach was windy but nice to cool down. The pool snack bar for lunch was so relaxing and with a super choice of food, we didnt bother with the Hotel restaurant for the whole 2 weeks. The terrace bar is a great place to enjoy a cocktail when the sun goes down. We found the staff very friendly and welcoming also the animators, who speak to everyone, not just the young ones !!
This Hotel is spotlessly clean, well maintained and a delight to stay in. Best of all, nobody in our party of 8 suffered from sickness and diarrhoea, so whatever problems there were in the past with this Hotel, have now been resolved !! Please go and enjoy !!
It was our first visit to Morocco Agadir, March 2006. We have previously visited Taba, Egypt, and presumed it would be of a similar vain. However, we found the resort to be much better.

We arrived at our Hotel, Founty Beach and found the surrounds to be very pleasant - so far so good. We checked in relatively smoothly and went to our room. This was well presented, large bathroom and good sized bedroom. 2 singles but you can ask for them to made up to a double. However, the view from our balcony was disappointing. We had a view of a wall and a road. We went back to reception to see if we could swap rooms, we could! But for a fee we thought a little too steep, so we declined their offer. The next day we asked our rep if he could possibly help us, and he did. We paid an extra £10 per night for a room with a sea and pool view, well worth it to us. So many thanks to our rep! Who was excellent in presentation, information and on great terms with the staff at the hotel.
The food in the Founty Beach was delicious. Quite a varied menu (we did only stay one week though) The breakfasts were varied and catered for all tastes, cold meats, and cheeses, cereals, freshly squeezed orange juice! Yoghurt drinks, Pots of coffee. Crispy (yeah can you believe it!?) bacon, omelettes, fresh figs, pineapple, prunes and dates, sweet pastries and pancakes (which my boyfriend enjoyed immensely). We tended to have lunch near the pool at the BBQ, where they served fresh salad, various vegetables ,they made fresh pizza's which the chef had to keep a good pace going as this seemed to be a firm favourite. Pasta's, ice cream (which I was dubious about eating but shouldn't have been) fresh fish, fresh fruit. Dinner time was rather more sophisticated, a wine list was given, not the most expensive bottles no room for wine connoisseurs- but drinkable. Again a varied menu, soups, and salads, vegetables mixed with spices and herbs, pasta's, various meats and fish dishes. The desserts were mainly small pastries and ice creams but the chefs knocked up some warm profiteroles which were delicious with the chocolate sauce. A huge 3 tier chocolate cake one night went down a storm and looked impressive. We had no problem being served drinks or the amount of times we went up to order more. Cocktails were there for you to try also.
The staffs are all friendly and smiled at everyone all the time. The Animation team worked very hard all day, although the shows weren't to everybody's taste every night. Riverdance, comedy sketches etc.. There is a Casino not far out of the Hotel that would be worth a visit. You can walk, although there are Taxi's in abundance outside the hotel.
The 2 large pools and children's pool which were kept immaculate. One was heated, and appreciated in March, even though the weather was very good; (It was 31 degrees one day) a slight cool wind in the afternoon was quite refreshing. The private beach was good, v quiet. Would not advise going in the sea even the strongest of swimmers would be struggling, except for paddling -the sea is very strong and tended to deceive you with the odd wave that came rushing in and grabbed large rocks and your legs and sucked you back in! If that didn't get you the pebble sellers will - their not allowed on the private beach though.
There are a few trips to go on, we went on a fishing boat trip, which was worth it, never seen as many people fish and throw up at the same time! The sailors cooked what you had caught and they were very entertaining. The sea was rather choppy that day.
A visit to the Souk also worth a go. Don't forget to haggle, its fun when you get the hang of it. If you don't fancy that there is a mini market Uniprix-no haggling. This cost us about 35 Dirham to get to. Wait till you get to Agadir Airport for your duty free cigarettes and alcohol, its cheaper.
In my opinion the Founty Beach was a good hotel worthy of praise and I would certainly recommend Agadir and the Founty Beach.

Oh what a lucky bunny you are if you have booked this hotel. My mum and I are just back from a week there. I am well travelled and I can honestly say this is the best hotel and country I have ever been to. The hotel is on a brilliant location right on the lovely beach. The food is fantastic. The staff are so polite, happy and keen to meet your every need. This was my mum's first holiday and she loved it. We booked into the health spa for a pampering day, had walks down the beach in the warm water (the beach is spotless). We did a Moroccan night and city tour. All great. The staff come round and introduce themselves to you and ask you personally if you want to join in/come to events. There are a lot of french people in this resort who we found to be great too even though I don't speak french. The Direct holidays rep Kamal was absolutely great.
Best holiday ever. Our sheets and towels were changed every day.
