this was my husbands 40th birthday pressie from me and it was not at all what i thought it would be. after two days my son took ill sandd and then my husband started being ill later the same day, i was on antibiotics and think this saved my from the same. did not think much of the food at all no choice if you are a plain eater meat and two veg no not here i know we all go away to try something esle but we were quite hard pushed to find things, some nights my son ending up eating bread and cheese for evening dinner. hotel was beautiful could not have asked for better.
i would use this chain of hotels as the hotel was spotless and very very clean.
staff were very helpful and antented to anything you wanted in double quick time.
i would say donot take kids at this of year because there is not many other children about.
Fantastic, after having just returned from a week of sun, food and drink.
Everything about this hotel was fabulous, it was spotlessly clean, food was very good and staff very friendly. What more is there to say apart from definately recomend it.

We initially had some reservations after reading this site as others before us had done. I dont know if going in January and therefore out of season made a difference but we had a great time.
The hotel was spotlessly clean at all times. The staff in general were very pleasant and helpful. Once you get to know them they cant do enough for you. Like all hotel food it tended to be a little repetitive after two weeks, but was saved by the pizza chef, the omlette man and the freshly cooked pasta chap! Breakfast was the best meal, with pancakes, omlettes and doughnuts!
As regards the taxis available at the front of the hotel, I would say be a little wary we got to know one driver called Abdulla who was very helpful. However some drivers seem to want to take you to see their brothers shop or their sisters flower stall rather than the souke you wanted so be firm!
Marrakech is definately worth a visit as are some of the smaller villages in southern Morocco, Agadir does not represent the true Morocco.
Overall it is a wonderful country with very friendly people, showing a great diversity, well worth a visit.Don't expect english T.V, English food or English bars anywhere, thats what makes it special, so go before it becomes like a canary island!

We were going away for Xmas it was my Husbands birthday Xmas day and mine new Years Eve. We had been on holiday earlier in the year to the Dominican Republic and we went 4 Star. Unfortunatly it was not a 4 Star and the hotel was terrible. But Thomas Cook did give us a hefty compensation package which enabled us to go away again Xmas. After booking I went onto the website and read the reviews of the Iberostar founty beach, I was so concerned that we were going to have another disappointment that I actually wrote to Thomas Cook. I wanted to know if they were encountaring any problems with the hotel as we really needed this to be a good holiday. They kindly wrote back and gave us assurance this was not the case.
Well what can I say we all had a fantastic time and would not hesitate to go back again and again. Iberostar founty Beach is rated 4 star and is worthy of this rating. We found no problems with the food or cleanliness. This is our first holiday where none of us have had any stomach complaints. The weather was fabulous it was around 25 degrees everday. The beach is cleaned daily and there is a police presence on there to stop the beach sellers becoming a nuisance.
We didn't do any excursions but found the taxi's outside the hotel to be excellant and very cheap. Our children loved the entertainment they were kept occupied with football , french bowls, darts etc. This is the first holiday that we and other British holidaymakers there have said that we did not want to return from.
So to anyone going out there I'm sure you'll have a fantastic time. Any problems that the hotel did have in the past are well and truly gone.

Lets start from the beginning! At the time of our departure flights were with Astraeus Airlines. As this was a holiday for our wedding anniversary I emailed them to request front seats, their website stated they do not reserve seating as it's based on a first come first serve basis. However at check-in they had emailed Gatwick and we had our reserved seats and a bottle of champagne! There were no delays.
When we arrived in Agadir it was very hot. Transfer to the hotel went with no problems about 30 mins.
Check-in at the hotel passed smoothly. We were greeted with glasses of mint tea.
Our room was absolutely lovely. We asked for a sea view but none available. We were in the right ring about six rooms along from the sea front. Although these rooms look out onto the next door hotel we did not find this intrusive. Once on the balcony and because of it's angle we had a sea view.
At first we thought we'd been given a superior room but found out all rooms were the same. There was a basket of fruit for our anniversary. Air-conditioning worked perfectly. Mini fridge had ice trays and we had no problem making ice. The room was very clean. Our sheets were changed daily and the room was kept very clean. Television only has BBC World.
All inclusive features were ample. Locally produced spirits were included but not international brands. These could be bought at 30% discount off menu price if staying on an all inclusive basis. In our experience the buffet food remained similar for the two weeks. There was quite alot available and meat dishes were varied daily. We did find however that we had to be careful, because, on a number of occasions the meat was almost raw and we had to take it back. Reading other reviews before we went made me very observant of the cleanliness of cutlery and glasses. It appears this problem may have been rectified becasue they were clean.
The hotel grounds are spotless. Always people working on them and sprinklers on the grass at night. The swimming pools were really clean but cold. Music played round the pool but not too loud as experienced by us at other hotels. Music turned off between 12.30-2.30 for lunch.
Most of the staff at the hotel are really friendly and helpful. The animation team work really hard day and night. Very friendly but not 'in your face'. The nightly shows were brilliant, very entertaining. Included folklore, grease, riverdance. Look out for Toto, he's really funny. Various activities around the pool and on the beach during the day.
We went on the two day trip to Marrakech, well worth it if you want to see the real Morocco and really good value. Journey takes you through the Atlas Mountains. The jeep safari was excellent and really good fun although I think we had the best driver as everyone was saying they wished they'd got in our jeep.
Our Thomas Cook rep, Moez, was fantastic. Currently staying at the Founty beach. He was so friendly and spent many evenings with us. He even started to take part in the evening shows. I have never experienced a rep that is around so much and always available. Really tries to join in and make your holiday special. He surprised us by arranging for a big bouquet of roses, petite fours and another basket of fruit to be put in our room in our second week.
If you go to Agadir book into the restaraunt 'La Scala'. The food is out of this world. Booked for us by Moez he had told them without our knowledge that it was our wedding anniversary and at the end of our meal they put music on and brought us a cake. We found it a bit pricey for Morocco but money well spent.
The bug that has been written about in other reviews is still there. My husband was ill on our second day for 24hrs and I was unwell in the second week. We used bottled water for everything as we always do on holdiay. We were told that this was occurring in alot of hotels in Agadir and that Thomas Cook health and safety people were flying out in two weeks.
Shopping was not too bad. People did hassle you to come into their shops but we did find that if you said no, mabe more then once, they left you alone. If you've been shopping in Tunisia you will have no problems in Morocco.
Our return flight was delayed for 20mins due to English Weather. We did find the plane really dirty coming back. My husbands tray rest was broken and there was dirt up the back of the seat in front. The duty free at the airport does not sell Silk Cut so I thought I'd get some on the plane. As there is only one duty free trolley, and it starts at the front of the plane they had sold out by the time they reached the back so be aware of this.
All in all this was a really good holiday. The hotel is fantastic and there's plenty to do or not do. If we were to return to Morocco I would go back to this hotel.
