Have just come back from Agadir a few weeks ago. Firstly can I say the hotel is lovely and the food great - but did get a bit repetitive after 14 days - the animation team were brilliant. The only thing that let it down was the weather!! Don't come here if you want a sunny holiday. We were there for 8 days before the sun came out. We asked about this after no sun for 3 days and they informed us the best time to come is between Feb to April. Between May to August is the worse time if you are looking for the sun. The whole place was full of French and Germans. Everything that was anounced was in french then english and then german. Some of the people who spoke english we talked to said they come to Agadir this time of the year to get away from the sun. On the plus side it was my daughters 11th Birthday while we were there and the hotel organised a cake. We also spoke to the animation team who brought it into the restaurant singing and cheering, they made it really special!! You will have a lovely time if you go to the Founty Beach Hotel, but pick the right time of year depending on whether you would like sun or not...

We stayed for 7 nights and found the hotel excellent. The staff, especially the animation team, couldn't do enough and were always friendly and helpful. The rooms was kept spotless and the children couldn't wait to see what shape their pyjamas had been put in each day by the maid!!
The food was great, with a wide selection to suit all tastes, but I imagine that if you were there for two weeks it could become a bit monotonous.
The day and evening entertainment by the animation team was the best we have seen at any hotel. All trained dancers who could easily work in entertainment anywhere, yet they worked all day in the kids clubs and continued chatting to guests even after the show.

One down side is the dreaded sun-bed reservations! On our first morning we came out at 9am and not a single sun-bed was available. There are plenty to go round but people put towels on them at about 7am each morning and didn't use them until mid-afternoon!! In the end we decided that if you can't beat them join them, and came out each morning on a military operation to reserve our beds! The hotel really needs to crack down on this as it was the only thing that put a dampener on things.

There's not much to do outside the hotel, I wouldn't recommend this if you like to get out and see a bit of the country. Also beware of the taxi drivers, we asked to be taken to the Souk, but he took us to some tiny little place owned by his friend and left us stranded there. Luckily we got another taxi back!
Also, if the staff ask if it's your last day don't tell them (even if it is),as they stop serving alcohol on the all inclusive after lunch. We just carried on and took all our meals, but apparently some were not so lucky.

Overall, a fantastic hotel - highly recommended if you want a relaxing holiday by the pool (as long as you get a sun-bed!). Iberostar are lucky to have such a great staff.

Have just returned from 2 weeks at this excellent hotel.

Had paid extra for a room with a side sea view and this was well worth the money with both pool views and along miles of this magnificent beach.

The food in the hotel was good and we always were able to get something to our liking.
We would especially complement the hotel staff for their friendliness and courtesy

Undertook 2 half day trips via the tour operator, the Agadir City tour and the longer trip to Taroudant, yes we did see the goats up a tree!!!. We didn't feel up to the 4 hours each way to Marrakech.

The Hotel evening entertainment was very good and the Animation team get my thanks and complements. They all work very hard. Being in our second childhood we enjoyed the Mini disco before the main evening shows.
However in the second week the shows started to repeat a bit and we still don't understand the 'French' humour.

The downside is that there is not a lot to do in Agadir, The Bird Valley, which sounds great only take about 15 mins to walk through, We also got really fed up with the constant hassle in the shops and never really knew if we got a bargain.

We both also returned with heavy virus type colds that have taken days to shake off.

So, a great hotel, fantastic location on the beach, great staff, but can get bit boring if you want to do more than just relax by the pool.

First of all let me warn about the All Inclusive arrangements on your last day. No alcohol from 12 noon (not such a problem), only allowed to take lunch in the main restaurant, with soft drinks. Absolutely no drinks after lunch, not even water.
This made a very disappointing end to what had been a great holiday. We were told about the no alcohol rule by the Rep but none of the other stuff. Not on when you don't arrive till late evening on the first day so don't get your full 7/14 days All Inclusive. Also, what about the advice to drink plenty before you fly?
If you think the bar staff are being friendly when they ask you after a few days if this is your last day, be careful what you say, as they are probably just checking when they need to stop serving you.

Anyway, apart from that we had a good time. Arrived on Christmas Eve so missed most of the Gala Dinner. What we saw looked good. Mornings and evenings are quite cool but its nice for sunbatheing between 10 and 4. Plenty of room around the pool, although it was starting to get busy by the time we left (31st Dec). Can imagine it will be a nightmare getting a sunbed in the Summer. Hotel beach very nice with lots of space. Agadir Beach itself is fantastic and well worth a walk - just be aware you will get hasseled to buy all sorts of junk plus camel rides.

Food is good but not much variety in the evenings. Don't expect an English fry up for breakast as you won't get one. However we can recommend queuing for the omelettes. Restaurant area quite small for the number of people and one night had to close for a while as no empty tables. You will be shown to a table, which can be annoying as not always in a great place, but best not to upset the staff by refusing the seat offered.
Service from the lobby bar is OK but it can take ages to get waiter service. Beach bar can get very busy and there's a definite art to getting served!

Room was quite nice, always clean and plenty of storage. Rooms overlooking the pool will get noise all day, then noise from the mini disco and show from 9 till about 11 pm. Day time entertainment disappointing but perhaps it gets better in the Summer. Evening shows not great - one night the main attraction was a (very bad) magician.

Agadir town is about 30 minutes walk or you can get a local orange taxi. Make sure the metre is on when you get in. White Mercs also available, but they do longer distance and you need to agree a fare upfront. Free tourist train all day is good to have a look around on as you can stay on it all the way around and come back to the hotel

Did the day trip to Marrakesh but it is a really long day (18 hours). On reflection should have gone for 2 days, but that's a big chunk from a 7 night holiday. Well worth a visit as the atmosphere is amazing. Just beware of the mad driving and overtaking on the ";main"; road. It seems to be everyone for them elves and don't worry about what's coming the other way!

Overall a different way to spend Christmas, and until the fiasco on the last day we would have gone back again. However the rules on food and drink are petty, something we've never had before on an AI holiday. Would have been nice to be told about this when we booked.

Finally, make sure you get your Landing Card when you check in at English Airport, as we didn't so had to complete them when we landed. Service at Agadir Airport much better than Gatwick.
