We stayed at the Hotel Sofitel in Agadir in October half term 2006. We found this Hotel to be very friendly and very clean. The service of the hotel staff was excellent, they couldn't do enough for us. The pool was luxury right on the beach also.
The food was good in the Hotel although as we stayed BandB we found it to be a bit on the expensive side. For example a beer cost 45 dirhams in the hotel (£1 is equivalent to 16 dirhams) but in the restaurants and bars it was 15 dirhams for a pint of draught beer. We did eat in the Hotel twice which we enjoyed but found it to be cheaper eating at restaurants outside the hotel.
Agadir itself is very clean. We would definately go back.
Taxis are available by the hotel staff and cost only 20 dirhams (16 dirhams to the £1) - to walk it took about 15 minutes to the nearest restaurants and it was very clean and safe to walk at night. A taxi was about 5 minutes.
The only draw back about this hotel was that there were still those people who put towels on beds very very very early then not come to the beds until lunchtime which was irritating. If you complained the staff took the towels off the beds for you and handed them back to the towel service hut.
